I think of it as pre-consensual. They obviously do things like this all the time, so they must have some type of agreement or understanding going on. It’s like sneaking up behind your lover and hugging them, or kissing them. No one screams “Non-consensual!” for that.

Yes what I’m saying could be interpreted sugar coating, but it’s way it’s consensual after the fact. Perhaps if someone has a rape fetish they’ll hire someone to hide in their house and jump on them as it unexpected moment, of course since this is a paid worker it is still in my mind consensual. There is a definite moral difference between person A having sex with person B such that B doesn’t know about the sex act (like sleep sex/rape), or B doesn’t give explicit permission but would have if asked, and the worst instances of rape where B wants the sex to not happen or to stop, is actively resisting A, would forbid the sex if B could, and derives no pleasure but only pain from the act. None of the sex in these comics are examples of this latter type of sex, which is what most will think of when they think of rape. The two types of sex should not be conflated.
 
As for the comic where Luna takes over Celestia’s sleeping body, I got the sense that Celestia knew all along before the prank even started that Luna was going to do something like that, the same with the Twi x NMM one as well.

you can argue technical definitions all you want, but it still sets off many peoples futa fetish and thus also annoys many people who dislike futa, and thus should still be tagged as such.

The strange thing is, almost every single one of his comics have hit a pre-existing fetish of mine as well. And its not ‘sugarcoating’. Some people just prefer some of their fetishes with cream and sugar rather than drinking it black. Many of us like it either way, but are in the mood for one or the other depending.

What are you even trying to say? All that text and I only got “I find these fetishes gross”. Which is ignoring the fact that these fetishes are insanely niche. Kanashi is going for nearly unheard of, and very creative kinks. I don’t think appealing to a large audience was ever the goal here. If everyone that did not like these kinks posted here to tell us, we’d have more comments than total image submissions to the site.

Oh, this totally feels aimed at me, so let me try to explain a bit. The whole “everyone enjoying themselves” thing is, I believe, one of the major selling points of kanashii’s comics for a lot of people. In fact, it’s absolutely one of the reasons I still enjoy looking at all of their comics even if I dislike the context in many of them. Kanashii has very fun and expressive faces and really nails the kind of expressions of pleasure that help make sex fun and funny. However, kanashii’s comics also features several kinks that myself and others can find unarousing or even repugnant. Incest is a big one for a lot of people. Chrysalis’ ovipositor is another major kink that can turn people off to the recent series of comics. Personally, I’m on the fence about that one; sometimes I like it, sometimes it just turns me off. I would personally prefer seeing kanashii’s primarily lesbian cast actually do more cunnilingus over the rather abundant ovipositor use of late, but that’s me. One other troublesome issue is the couple of comics with rape, the Nightmarity time-raping Twilight, and the one where Luna took over Celestia’s body and had Chrysalis fuck and ‘impregnate’ her. Hopefully I shouldn’t need to explain why some find that objectionable. And if that was a rhetorical question I just answered, I regret nothing as I love answering rhetorical questions.
