Look, IN MY OPINION, AJ is to wide here. The art is still good and the artist can have whatever representation they want of her. That’s why it’s AU. But for a person who built their body through farm work her lower half is more Pinkie proportioned here. It’s not a bad thing, just not what I consider an ideal properly proportioned AJ. There are a ton of amazing pictures out there where AJ has the body type I feel she fits. Doesn’t mean I can’t like AJ just because I don’t agree with this version of the lower half of her body. This pic had a ton of other nice assets. The background is well done. The lighting is fantastic. The wood detail on the rail is top notch. The artist is very good. The style preference isn’t quite what I consider a match for the farm girl.

They’re really not that large and are pretty realistic. I don’t understand your issue. AJ is very thickset, tall and muscled in this picture—Rarity with her arms at her size snugly fits into the narrow part of AJ’s stomach. The hips are more than reasonable and not even close to what sundown typically does. There’s nothing wrong with her curvature.
 
Plus, you do realize you’re using pony measurements on a clearly humanized picture? I could almost understand your approach on an anthro image, but this clearly isn’t even EQG, there’s no real reason to complain about height.

Saying that is poor taste and more so if artists really believe it. There is no reason why AJ has to be the character with the oversized anything. She’s canonly the same size of the other four(smaller if what Trixie said is an indicator) and we KNOW there are already larger female characters model (like the hillbilly mares this season). It’s really just a couple artists that mass produce, going at it with the same style, putting all the possibilities of AJ’s body type into one area.

I’m just saying, applejack is the only character with a character specific wide hips tag. It’s something that’s very common for artists to do for applejack.
 
which is why I say that AJ is the wrong character for you if you do not like wide hips.

Actually Applejack is the best character, but in the real world a physically fit female like her wouldn’t have hips that made her look fat. I like everything about this artists pictures except the extremes on that part of the anatomy.
