Regarding Cadance’s backstory:
 
Two of GM Berrow’s latest books were for Celestia and Luna, which were both hardcovers part of “The Princess Collection.” It’s possible there will be a Cadance book as a part of that collection, which might delve deeper into her history than the Crystal Heart Spell did. Luna’s book did give her a lot of backstory, though Celestia’s book was more current events.

Sombra’s a boss. X)

Eh, personally, while I love to see more of best pony (Sombra for me), the Siege arc was hit or miss. I loved how he was shown through the first three issues, but issue 4 kinda kit me with a curve ball. XD
 
In the end I thought he was brilliant in the season 3 opener, and his little alternate bit in the S5 finale. Just going by those alone I would be happy, but he do have decent material that builds on his character in FIENDship #1 as well as that little bit of him in Twilight and Shining’s Friends Forever comic. Add in his alternate self in Reflections and it’s good being a Sombra fan; IMO. XD
 
But that’s me. Shrug.

Celestia and Sombra are the two most undeservingly shafted characters in my opinion. So much potential wasted for no reason.

Oh yeah, the book thingy. Still haven’t read it, I’ve been told it’s not worth it. Well if they want to flesh out Cadance a bit more, they’ll be bound to revisit the Empire. Who knows, maybe they will change her origins, or at least do something interesting with the idea that’s already there. But if they never come back to the Empire, no skin off my back. But if they never have a proper Celestia episode, then I’ll really be ticked off. Season 5 was the season of Luna + CMC, time for big white to shine.

I hope for more world building as well and more prominent roles for side characters as well, instead CMC searching for cutie marks which they now have they can have side character episodes that focus on a different pair of characters each new episode with some CMC one’s in their at times.

They kinda addressed her connection with the Crystal Empire in the EU though it’s flimsy as fuck >•<. Her backstory there just makes it even worse. This is of you take the EU as canon too.
 
Not only that but I heard that one of the writers said she’s just a distant relative of the last Crystal Princess.
 
 
I’m not even sure the writers even want to do anything with the place. Almost everytime we see Cadence Now it hasn’t even been at the place.
 
Problem with the Crystal Empire is they haven’t even tried to give even one crystal Pony a character.

I’m unsure how to respond to the discussion. I must say they I happy with Sombra just being killed off. He was an evil pain in the ass and now his ass is grass. I suppose Hasbro responded with the comic because some of the fandom criticized him for being lazily written.

Hmm, never had any real issues with the Crystal Empire, but that might be because I never took it seriously. Which is not a good thing, since it probably means I didn’t find it very interesting in the first place.
 
The writers could easily give a lot more depth to the Crystal Empire, if they gave an explanation to Cadance’s link with the crystal heart, and why she was referred to as “the crystal princess”. I’m sure there is a backstory there just waiting to be told, and Sombra could be an integral part of an episode about the Crystal Empire’s secrets.
 
If season 5 showed one thing, it’s that the writers are not scared to give secondary characters more importance in the episodes. I’m hopeful that the next season will have lots of world building, and if one of the episodes centers around Candance, I’m sure the writers would include more lore for the Crystal Empire. Thought I would prefer an episode about Celestia over Cadance/Sombra, no hesitation there.

Problem with this is that the show can’t write the Crystal Empire worth shit. The best time they’ve ever been written was in the finale. Other times they’ve been written like complete crap to the point you could actually take them out of the setting and nothing would change. Literally every episode of there’s was terrible in some way.
 
There’s a reason why we haven’t had any Crystal Empire episodes in Season 5 and due to the fact Sombra is affiliated with that place then us seeing him is at an all time low.
 
The time when the writers can actually make people care about the Crystal Ponies is when they actually need to bring Sombra back which will probably be never.

That’s not what it says at all just because you try to change your meanings around doesn’t mean it can apply to the first you clearly state that because the artist makes a light jab at the comic he must be complaining about the comic as a whole and that him having a background makes him a better character that is canon so yes you were the one whining about canon so watch where you sling your accusations around.

And you’re right, the show probably has much more to present us, no need to resuscitate old content, but it’s just that the comic promised something I wanted so very much (Chrissy and Sombra teaming up) then kinda fell flat for me. Now I can’t help but wonder, “what if…”

I’m pretty sure Hasbro won’t be bringing him into full picture, with a back story and full screen time on the show. They have better things to do, hence why they made the comics, to get people to stop asking for more. They have more plans than just bringing back old villains. Though, the Season 5 finale was epic, to see how the villains could win! 8/10- good job hasbro!

Um the staff couldn’t write Sombra for shit in Season 3 premiere. Besides that he was pretty much brought back for fanservice.

Let’s finish this at: I didn’t argue canon, I stated that the comics have more to Sombra than what the show provided. And I didn’t shitpost the fandom, I said they can’t be happy with what Hasbro provides. That’s all I needed to say, don’t keep refreshing the chat so you can over analyze what I been saying.
