Her “excuse” is that she took pity on Trixie and let her off with a slap on the wrist when she could have easily pressed charges for her own abuse of magic (and don’t give me that she was possessed nonsense, Trixie sought out the amulet herself).
 
So compared to that, Trixie getting her mouth zipped shut is a minor problem, when did she could have avoided if she hadn’t decided to mouth off to/mock Twilight.
 
So if Trixie wants to throw a bill her way, Twilight can easily throw a bill at her for all the damages she caused.

No it isn’t, cuz the doctor openly stated that the balance will be absolutely zero bits. So there’s no money to pay.
 
And if Twily is suddenly going to be charged for snapping at someone who decided to mouth off to her, then Trixie should be paying for the damages she caused while wielding the Alicorn Amulet under her little power trip. And believe me, hers is going to have a lot more zeros than Twilight’s.
 
If anything, Trixie’s little rampage throughout Ponyville will have more repercussions than Twilight simply zipping her mouth shut.

Considering in the context of the comic, Twilight was already well aware of those issues and Trixie was simply taunting her, Trixie is the one at fault for trying to be a smart-ass (plus, there was nothing to “think through”, she was made a princess, that’s it). And deciding to continue to taunt Twilight in the final image pretty much shows that Trixie herself needs a little reminder of why she shouldn’t push her buttons.
