Honestly, other than “I’ll use Tavi and Vinyl for example”, I could only barely make any sense of any part of your first paragraph.
 
As for your analysis of shipping Octavia and Vinyl Scratch… firstly, how much evidence do we really have? I’ve seen a lot of people throw around lots of claims about what kind of relationships do or don’t work in real life, but I’ve never seen anyone provide better evidence than a single anecdote, and most of the time, not even that much.
 
That said, whether it would work out in real life or not, there is a form of logic behind it. It’s a logic that produces shipping pairs that people find very easy to romanticize (note that I use the word “romance” as in “idealized fantasy”). Romance is, by its nature, only tenuously tied to reality, and that’s just something we accept, just like when physical conflict, political intrigue, friendships, and just about anything else are romanticized by fiction into things much grander and more dramatic than is usually realistic. Y’know, like the whole “friendship is magic” premise of the show itself.
 
Cloudtavia might or might not be more realistic (or less unrealistic), but since when was that ever the point? What matters is if you find it fun.
 
For the record, I love me some crackships. I delight in it all.

Every ship is a little illogical. I think they fit together like bread and butter. I could see them having a romantic relationship in RL. And shit, it would be totally fine if hasbro shipped Flutters and Pinkie, if done right.
 
Here’s an RL example: I’m more of a calm guy. I met this girl (back when I wasn’t too shy for that shit), she was one of my sister’s friends. Very energetic girl, who likes wrestling (You know, WWE and stuff.)… I knew NOTHING about wrestling! I’m more of a computer guy. Anyways, we didn’t fit together AT ALL. But it still worked out, we both had lots of fun. Well, until she had to leave town.

Well I don’t really. The ship I could care less about. It’s the shippers that bother me.
 
Now onto the illogical sense. A lot of people seem to think (This was something I got as a reply) that since we basically gave them their personalities it’s fine to mix them together…well I see their point but that’s also pretty well…wrong (and I hate using that word) but saying that since we made Vinyl and Octavia’s personalities and that makes it perfectly fine and logical (and that I’m complaining and in the wrong yaddy yaddy yadda) is like saying it’s fine if Hasbro romantically shipped (since most ships are) Pinkie Pie and Fluttershy together (or a few other examples but whatever) now this simply wouldn’t work out that well “WELL OMG YOU HATER HAVEN’T YOU HEARD OF ‘OPPOSITES ATTRACT’! YOU [Word I cannot say due to the image rating]” I WAS GETTING THERE…NOW SHUT UP AND STOP TYPING. Ok with “Opposites Attract” now this is true but at the same time it’s not. Opposites attract only really applies to unforeseen personality traits. I’ll use Tavi and Vinyl for example
 
Both (Surface Value) : Both like music and seem to be rather mature at least when needed.
 
Tavi : Classy,Graceful,Quiet etc  
Vinyl : A bit rude,Reckless,Loud etc.  
Now in an IRL relationship (and some people have tried to explain to me how this would work IRL) this wouldn’t fly for more then a month, two months tops before they’d be after each-other with knives because they don’t “click” that way. Now I’m not saying they couldn’t be friends or anything like that. But I can’t see the logic of a romantic relationship with them.
 
It seems the thought process went somethin’ like this || Both Musicians?…I bet they f*** ||
 
Knowing now I’ve gotten another Brony website to hate my guts I’ll be off.
