“Wait, hold up, I need to do something real quick.”

What are you doi—“No, no, just calm your tits for a moment, you can wait.”

I don’t see why this is—“Aaaaaaaand, bam.” [deletes save folder]

“And now we-” [title screen shows as normal]

“Heh.” God damn it.

Still, you know what you did. You can’t escape that feeling. Whenever you want to blaze through the Dungeons of Doom or have a quick match in Halo, I’ll—“Y’know, Chara, ol’ buddy pal chum, you ever considered that I really just like messing with you?”

…you think this is a joke?

“Perhaps.”

I don’t find it very funny.

“Well, kid, you need to lighten up. Maybe a little. Anything you need to talk about?”

What are you, my psychiatrist? Please. I’d rather have a rabid wolf as my shrink than a pansy like you.

“Hm. Well, I can try and get one for you.”

Are you serious—[already gone]

…this should be interesting. It will be fun to see how badly he fails.

@Ledvi
YES

Exactly.

Perhaps. We can reach a compromise. You still have something I want. Give it to me. And I will bring this world back.

Interesting…you want to go back.
You want to go back to the world you destroyed.
It was you who stopped Rainbow Dash from creating the sonic rainboom.
It was you who led the world to its destruction. But you cannot accept it.
You think you are above consequences.

PERFECT.

Whatever bird that's dumber than a duck. Imagine I made the effort to research that and make a new badge for it. - Either a complete retard or a full time moron, it's hard to tell which and frankly I don't care either way

@Seiya-Meteorite
There is one thing that I did wrong in the past that resulted in me having an unpleasant present. However, given that I can’t accurately project the results of what have happened if I’d done differently, I wouldn’t be willing to risk catastrophic consequences for everybody else, even if I had the power and opportunity.

I think when she was destroying it it was out of desperation, ever wanted to try to permanently fix something you did wrong in the past so a bad future would never happen? Then again, we can’t change our past, we just have to focus on our future.

after a while of these loops

There wasn’t a while to be had, though. The end of the loop Twilight pulled Starlight into was near-absolute annihilation. If there was going to be another one, it might have been an environment so hostile to life that it would have immediately killed Twilight and Spike the moment they entered it. Also, Starlight was destroying the scroll during the dialogue, meaning there weren’t going to be any more loops to run through.

@Somber Star
Yes she was closed to dialogue for now. But we don’t know what other ways Twilight could have changed that.
Right then Starlight was full of anger. Highly emotional. Full in a battle mindset.
Like I said, It could have been that after a while of these loops Starlight would have calmed down enough to be spoken to. Or Twilight could have found some other way of getting her to speak. We only saw the one way it happened.
And yeah, again I’ll admit that it IS possible that the way we saw was the only way. But we don’t know that for certainty.
Starlight saying those lines like “all of eternity” is exactly the kind of irrational thought I would expect someone who’s highly emotional and upset to say. And eventually they would calm down. We’ve seen that Starlight isn’t always in such a sate. So it feels unlikely that she would remain so for the rest of time.

Though I am admitting that it is an uncertainty. We don’t know what effects the looping can have on her emotional charge, If it keeps resetting her adrenaline or not etc.

And that’s really the only part I’m challenging in your statement. That seeing that future was the only way to reach out to her.

@Zebasiz
Starlight Glimmer was not open for dialogue, and she mentioned being willing to repeat her duel with Twilight for all eternity, which is a normal mindset for someone who has adopted a dogmatic mentality as Starlight had. The only other way to stop her would have been to kill her or render her unable to use magic, neither of which Twilight was willing to do, even if she’d been able.

We don’t know if it would have been the only way. We just know that Twilight used it to grab her attention and force her into a dialogue.

We don’t know what other methods could have worked. Maybe if Twilight was able to keep Starlight contained for longer and forced a dialogue between them it could have brought them to the same result. Or if Twilight kept re-trying the event, constantly attempting to Speak with Starlight, Starlight may have eventually calmed down enough from her emotions to begin speaking to Twilight.

The point is we don’t know what other methods would have or wouldn’t have worked. All we know is that Twilight took the opportunity to show Starlight the full repercussions of her actions, which was enough to get her to start a dialogue. Heck even seeing one of the other futures could have been enough. Again we don’t know. And we can’t say that being shown she destroyed everything is the only way Twilight would have gotten through to her.

Who knows, maybe it WAS the only way. But again, that was just the way it happened, and we can’t say for certain that there were no other ways it could have played out.

I think one of the things that pisses me off is that being shown she inadvertently destroys the world as a result is the only thing that had a chance of stopping her. Like the fact that it was a terrible thing to do to somepony, that she was inflicting the same pain she felt as a filly on to six others, was a perfectly reasonable thing to do from her perspective, and there was literally no other way to convince her that it wasn’t.
