You mean all of these timelines are where Spike is never born, Twilight never became Celestia’s Pupil, moved to Ponyville, became an alicorn princess, and had her own Castle of Friendship, the Mane Six was never formed. Nightmare Moon still possessing Luna or not, the Elements of Harmony still missing, Cadance and Shining Armor never married, Owlowiscious wasn’t adopted, Rainbow Dash never competes and wins the Best Young Flyer competition, the Crystal Empire still cursed by King Sombra, plunderseeds still spreading across Equestria, the Tree of Harmony still covered by vines, and the bad guys win instead of losing?
Yes. I mean, Spike could’ve hatched later.

Actually, Tirek would stand no chance. He had to drain the magic of almost every pony in Equestria to beat Discord, and he had Discord teleporting him all over the country and rounding ponies up by the boatload. Meaning that on his own, Tirek would’ve had to walk all over Equestria and only be able to eat 1 or a couple ponies at a time, and he’d quickly get so big, everyone would see him coming a mile away and vamoose, and yet he’d still be so weak (remember, he got big pretty early into the montage, so he couldn’t’ve been that strong), either of the royal sisters if not powerful Unicorns could take him out, so his ascent would take vastly longer to where Discord would find out about him immediately and stop him far before he became a threat, and remember, it was stated that Discord could sense when Tirek steals a pony’s magic, so he would not only find out about him the very 1st time he did it but know about every single time after that and therefore know how strong Tirek was at any given moment and where he was and be able to teleport to him instantly.

You don’t say? Yes, I’m Background Pony #ED51, and yes, I’m saying this.
says a background pony
It’s not a question about caring, tho. If you want caring, I can recommend Care Bears.

nobody cares about ahuizotl and indiana jones 2.0
Not the Sapphire Stone. Since Rainbow and her friends had not interacted with her yet, there would have been no impact on her adventure.
However, they did join her in stopping Ahuizotl from completing the ring-placing ceremony of the Rings of Scorchero, which would have broken the Radiant Shield of Razdon and brought eight hundred years of unrelenting, sweltering heat to the Tenochtitlan Basin.
Perhaps the magical backlash of breaking the Radiant Shield caused Ponyville and Canterlot to get nuked.
Perhaps once Ahuizotl had control of the Tenochtitlan Basin, he directed other ancient artifacts’ power to nuke the Princesses in Canterlot, and nearby Ponyville was collateral damage.

What do you think?
^^^ this
8th Timeline Ahuizotl took over. And finally kill Daring Do in order for him to succeed. He then uses the Sapphire Stone to reality warp everything to claim rule.
(Finale’s director’s cut)
Nothing is scarier… indeed.
The charms of ashlands timeline is that - we don’t know what was the cause of all of this.
I think each one of them excludes another one… or not in every AU because reasons. For example Equestria was capable to deal with NMM, but not with Sombra.
1st Timeline: King Sombra returns with the Crystal Empire. Princess Cadence and Shining Armor are killed and the Crystal Ponies are enslaved again. Sombra declares war on Equestria. Celestia leads the charge. Rainbow Dash and the Pie sisters end up on the frontlines.
2nd Timeline: Queen Chrysalis defeats Princess Celestia, Shining Armor and Princess Cadence. Her Changeling army takes over Equestria and imprisons anyone who opposes her and uses them as love suppliers. Zecora rallies a resistance against her.
3rd Timeline: Nightmare Moon is victorious against Celestia. She takes over Equestria and plunges it into eternal darkness.
4th Timeline: Tirek escapes Tartarus and absorbs all of Equestria’s magic. Goes on to reduce Equestria to a flaming ruin.
enilemiT ht5: Discord is victorious against the Princesses. Plunges Equestria into never-ending chaos.
6th Timeline: The Flim-Flam Brothers industrialize Equestria, reducing it to a polluted wasteland.
7th Timeline: Equestria is gone.
So rise and shine, Missss Sssparrrkle. Rise and ssssmell the aaasshes…
I think so n nU ……
I gotcha. So this is just a sea of misunderstanding? And quotes?
I see. I for once I don’t follow the headcanon you think I follow. Luna and Nightmare Moon aren’t one and the same, the very pilot said and I quote:
“…..The bitterness on the young one’s heart, had transformed her into a wicked mare of Darkness; Nightmare Moon!”
So one part in Luna’s heart took full control of her mind and body, and transformed her into Nightmare Moon. There was no external force, nor corruption, nothing, Luna herself created this alter ego unwillingly, and the Tantabus Ark further embraced this official canon, when Luna herself admitted she created hat entity to punish for what she did as Nightmare Moon. It’s true, that very statement could mean that she was “aware” of what she was doing as NM, but also, she could be refering to herself in third person (as NM). When Nightmare Moon was cleansed with the elements, at least in the canon of the series, she never returned. But even still, the very origin of Nightmare Moon implies that this could happen to any overpowered, almost god-ish Alicorn. If the plot of the first episode is telling us that being a Princess in Equestria is almost as dangerous as becoming a Jedi (meaning that if you had to keep your emotions at bay, or else they will dominate you) then another wicked mare could born.
But the main thing here is that Luna and NM were TWO different entities, Luna was trapped beneath the Mare. So who can assure that this couldn’t happen again with Celestia, Cadence or Even Twilight?
Note that in my original piece, I said “could have been reformed” and not “could have reformed”. I wasn’t trying to imply that Nightmare Moon would have been reformed like Discord, Sunset, or Starlight was, but apparently, I didn’t get the message across.
I suggested that. Actually, I said it in a previous comment:
I don’t adhere to that headcanon about Nightmare Moon coming from an external source (I know it’s what the comics say, but I personally don’t treat the comics as officially canon, even the good stuff), but I see what you’re saying. However, that does bring up a discrepancy. I’ve always held that Nightmare Moon and Luna were one and the same, just being different facets of the same character, but I can see you don’t follow that notion.
To put it in the terms of the “Nightmare Moon as external force” headcanon, in these timelines where Nightmare Moon doesn’t show up, Celestia could have used the Elements herself to rid Luna of the Nightmare Forces (or whatever you want to call it), perhaps at great cost, maybe even the Elements themselves.
Though, a good point was brought up that perhaps Celestia had to kill Luna in order to get rid of Nightmare Moon, possibly leaving her jaded after the fact. That may be why she took a more proactive approach against Sombra (I understand war is war, but it’s a bit strange Celestia would resort to total war to fight Sombra’s forces) and why the Changelings were ultimately successful in the end. Maybe having to kill her own sister for the good of Equestria emotionally burdened her to the point where if another threat were to come her way, she would either be emotionally unprepared (a la the Changeling Resistance timeline) or hellbent on making sure her country was safe (a la the Crystal War timeline).
Heck, it even works in the Flim Flam Industry timeline. After her encounter with Nightmare Moon, she probably didn’t have as much in her to rule, and she kept making poor decisions while resulted in an economic collapse. All of this is wild speculation, however, and it’s entirely possible that Celestia found a way to bring Luna back, though through compromising something in the process.
That’s not what I meant….I’m just saying that Nightmare Moon is not a character with chance of reformation….even if the somehow could separate and give body to her without messing with Luna or Rarity (her two possession victims so far) she would still be evil. As for what you mean, without the element, there was no other way to bring Luna back. So in the timeline where Discord is brought back and uses Celestia and Luna for amusement, maybe the price to bring her back were the elements. What I’m saying is that IMO Nightmare Moon was too evil (and awesome) to be reformed. I’m a writter myself, I’m writting a story where I plan to use NM but I’m having problems to maintain her evilness below the chart, that’s impossible.
