Well it is badass, but do you think it fits MLP? War, death, amputation, slavery, whatever Chrysalis does with the ponies she gets, an apocaliptic version of Equestria (seriously I half expected to see Little Pip wandering around in that last future); all of these in two episodes that end with them singing about making friends. Feels wrong.
 
I don’t like grimdark fics, so seeing them come to life and become cannon really rubs me the wrong way.

This was the most violent episode yet, even taking “Twilight Kingdom” into account.

One word: EPIC

Can we just have a two parter just focused on this?

Ok maybe holding her own is a little much but not getting completely oneshotted by her (IIRC it does show her getting back up) does show that Zecora (and maybe Zebras in general) is petty tough.

I’m not sure ‘hold her own’ really applies. Zecora was on her back in seconds.
 
Chrysalis was never really the most power of villains anyway, her advantage was an army and being ‘‘slightly’’ more subtle.

I never knew how much I wanted to see Zecora fight Chrysalis until now.

I know we didn’t see a lot of this fight but the fact that Zecora can hold her own against Queen Chrysalis is a serious upgrade in strength for Zecora.

I’m pretty sure Chrysalis murdered Zecora here. Thank god Twilight put things right.
