Well when I got lost at the mall, I was lucky enough that a kindly elderly lady found me and tried to help. She probably prevented me from about going crazy with panic. I’d like to imagine that that sort of kindness would be what prevails even if the loud speaker system was nearly shot. Strangers who see a frightened child might be concerned enough to help by flagging down a staff member. From there children and their families would be redirected to the same place where all lost things are eventually found.

My ribs hurt from laughing too hard. XD

It’s a shame this kinda thing doesn’t help in real life. I’ve been lost, and kept hearing announcements repeated. But how am I meant to understand a bunch of garbled static and mumbling? It was pure luck I found my family, and I still to this day find it hard to believe those announcements were meant to be about me. I never heard my name once. I never heard a single English word once. And even now people still cheap out on their sound equipment, putting lives at risk. What is the point when no-one can hear you?
