Is it just me, or is Nintendo really trying to push this apparent “Nintendo games aren’t just for kids” mentality lately?
I know that despite the “Nintendo is for kids” stigma existing since at least the late 90s, they’ve still had their fair share of M-rated games. Not only has Resident Evil been a regular presence since the port of Resident Evil 2 on the N64, but there’s also been the Turok games, Perfect Dark, Conker’s Bad Fur Day, Eternal Darkness, MGS The Twin Snakes, No More Heroes 1 and 2, Assassins Creed III and IV, and Bayonetta 2 and 3.
But it really feels like for the Switch they’ve been pushing for a bigger amount of M-rated titles. You have Diablo III, Dark Souls, Saints Row the Third, Doom, Mortal Kombat 11, South Park the Stick of Truth and the Fractured But Whole, Samurai Showdown coming out next month and Devil May Cry confirmed to be getting released later.
