AVGN makes money from it but he became very successful and made his own site as a result. But he has a passion for film so it’s definitely not greed.

Well that’s why he started doing videos in the first place, film. His nerd videos were him making films because that was his passion.  
And I love his non nerd videos, too. He really talks like someone who’s passionate about it.
