Video Game General

I’ve been playing a lot of “dwarf fortress” style management games.
 
 
I am prepared to start my own Dwarven Empire.

I’ve never played Dwarf Fortress but I’ve heard some interesting tales about it.

I’d play Dwarf Fortress if there were some form of instructions or tutorials instead of just me fumbling around, not knowing what anything is or does.
 
Oh, and maybe explain the symbols. That’s useful too.

There are tutorials. Just fan-made ones and nothing in the game itself.

I highly suggest getting a sprite pack when starting out DF for the first time. Once I made a few fortresses I went back to the basic ASCII symbols and was a lot easier to understand after I figured out what the hell im doing.

After playing Disgaea 5 a bit I’m starting to see why people are concerned about NIS translating Ys 8. The text/translations are just… urgh…

Too literal? Or too over-the-top?

I wish more video games used alternate history settings.  
Perhaps a game where you play as a delayed Joan of Arc fighting for resistance in a France occupied by an England that won the Hundred Years’ War. Where the police uses longbows.

More like it feels like 4Kids wrote this with some of it’s really dumb/repetitive humor. However one thing I noticed is they renamed the classes in some places, but not in others.

I did not expect ARMS to sell so well.

Nintendo does well in the weird market.

For all the good music the Metroid Prime has, my favorite is actually the menu theme of Trilogy.

It does have that feel about you need to fight the boss, but you dont want to, but you need to.

TIL that NASCAR 06, even with all the hype, HAS HORRIBLE HANDLING! Everytime you enter/exit the corner with autobreak, the car gets tight and slams you right into the wall! And then you lose spots and you become a slowpoke. I never turned off autobreak probably because I would suck on hitting my marks on the track. I tried to test that, but the breaks would lock up and you’d slam into the wall.
