Chippin’ In
I’m aware that the enemy A.I. in Fire Emblem has some… unusual quirks that carry over in Heroes. Granted, the mechanics for Heroes is a bit simplified compared to the main games, but they’re still similar enough for my observations to apply, and with battles in Heroes being faster and happening on a smaller field, I could observe any kind of patterns more easily.
- The enemy will always go for the kill. That is to say, if they can kill one of your units on their turn, then then they will make every attempt to do so. They’ll actually prioritize killing your units over any in-story objectives.
- When the enemy is in a defensive position, they will never move toward your units unless they can attack them on the same turn.
- If the enemy is weakened, and there’s no way for them to heal or a unit with low health for them to go after, they will purposely throw themselves at your strongest unit, solely to deprive your lower leveled units a chance to gain experience.
