I was thinking of needing to farm 5-10 relic runs just to have enough traces to refine a relic to give me a 10% chance to get it’s rare drop and that’s not even counting farming the relic itself,

Ah damn it, forgot to kill Alsanna. Thank god DS2 makes soul farming stupid easy

I have never played one in my entire life, and my friend is telling me I am missing a lot if I love horror games.

In Monster Hunter, there’s a deer-like animal that you can “kill” and carve its horns, liver, and skin, but was localized so that they ran off after you carved them for some reason.

Sometime in the early to mid 2000s, when they still sold ps2 games in game stores, and when I still ventured inside of malls, I could have bought a nearly unlimited supply of GTA: Vice City at only $5 a copy. I could have also bought some really cheap copies of Silent Hill and Soul Calibur games.
 
At the time it never occurred to me that videogame stores would ever stop selling PS2 games.

Maybe, I know in 3(the Wii one) you can KO them with some moves but killing them was still a thing.  
Never tried carving them when I KOed them, just tended to kill them when I needed somthing from them.
