It really does sound like it was certainly on Microsoft’s end of why this happened.

I said it yesterday but yeah I have no reason to buy an Xbox One now at this point. this was the game I was mostly excited for on it and they canned it. Fact A LOT of all those games they showed at E3 either have no converage or just straight up have been cancelled.

I wonder, who has the right to the assets of the game? Because if Platinum legally owns the assets then it wouldn’t be too far-fetched to hope that they might release it under a new name. If Microsoft owns them then those assets are never seeing a consumer screen ever.

Also apparently in 2015 when no Scalebound footage was shown Kamiya on his twitter straight up said,
 
“What do these MS fucks think they are doing?” Or something along those lines. At least that’s what I hear anyway.
 
So if that’s true yeah, This certainly feels like MS and Platinum were not seeing eye to eye and or MS was being a piece of shit.

No joke, Phil Spencer literally said that Scalebound’s cancellation was “better for Xbox gamers.”
 
And now we’re getting reports of Crackdown 3 (one of the games they tried to hype up right in the middle of the announcement of Scalebound’s cancellation) having production issues too, so… inb4 that gets cancelled too.

I’ll be honest. I’m kinda not interested in Scalebound in the first place, so that doesn’t really bother me.

You do realize that if they cancled the game at this stage it means either they feared it was so bad it would damage the brand, or more likely Platinum blew through most of the budget and was still no where near done meaning they would have to invest more than they already did right? you don’t just cancel a game for no reason, the cold heart of a corporation doesn’t do that, outside of maybe Konami, but they are famous for being dicks,
