Ok so I decided to switch from legendary to heroic in Halo Reach, and it feels far more balanced. Hard, but not stress-inducing. I’d go normal but apparently normal is too easy.
@Mikey
I myself haven’t found Reach’s legendary too terribly hard, but i do find it unbalanced for a game of it’s kind. I just want forge in the game and i’ll be happy.
@Mikey
Yeah, i find their shields too tanky, using weapons like the DMR feel useless when it takes around 10 shots to take the shield down. Pretty sure covenant weapons are better at taking down shields.
By 3 and on most difficulty descriptions say that Heroic is the mode to play on. I’m inclined to agree; that’s where it feels like the most effort was put in for a tough but fair challenge. Legendary is where every game feels like the devs went full derp on bashing the player against brick walls.
@Dustcan
Well, CE I often see called the most balanced legendary campaign. I like hard, but Reach on legendary started to get frustrating with the amount of fire being thrown, and most elites are the white high ranking ones.
@Jarkes
I suppose, but i can’t tell you how many times when halo is brought up in conversation that someone goes “Oh, you didn’t beat halo 2 on Legendary?”
Tbh, I always kind of wondered if there was actually intended to be more to the franchise after 3 (apart from Reach being a prequel), or if that just happened after Microsoft fully bought the rights from Bungie.
@Jarkes
Reach was always intended as bungie’s last hurrah with the series. They wanted to do other things(Destiny), but Microsoft wanted to keep their money maker alive.
@Jarkes
A lot of developers do this, it’s an unspoken rule to always end your games semi-openly. Never truly close a game unless you are convinced there will never be a sequel.
