Video Game General 2: Definitive/Remastered Edition

I was playing Game Dev Tycoon and decided to make a game called “Falldown” on the Playsystem 2 (PS2). A Dystopian adventure-RPG, based on Fallout.
 
It cost me 2.2M to make the game. I made a profit of 27.7M.
 
This is the most profitable game I’ve ever made.

A YouTuber liked my level in Super Mario Maker 2. :D

So, the Sans in Smash meme just won’t die.

Yes. If you want to see someone playable in Smash, seeing that actually happen would most likely make you happy.
 
How and why would that not be the case for Waluigi?

If they want Waluigi in, it’s most likely because they’ve played at least one Mario spin-off game and have gotten attached to him, to the point they think he deserves a playable spot in Smash… just like with any other character.
 
Or are you assuming that the Waluigi fandom just comes entirely from Brawl in the Family and nothing else?

I mean I would be fine with Waluigi in Smash but at the same time I’d be kinda sad ’cuz I kinda like the ‘put Waluigi in Smash’ meme.

Well, there was the infamous “Sans for Smash” meme, about how Sans from Undertale was just never getting into Smash… and then the Sans Mii Fighter costume was revealed, and those memes kinda took on a second life, now mainly poking fun at the fact that Sans is now in Smash in some form (even if it’s just a Mii Fighter costume).
 
If Waluigi gets in, the memes likely aren’t gonna die, just evolve into something else.

I’m kinda tired of that meme honestly, but sense he’s already in as an assist trophy, it’s unlikely they’ll make a character BOTH an assist, and playable in the same game. I think Waluigi will definitely be in the next SSB on a future new Nintendo system.
 
Though, I’m curious how the hell they can make a moveset for him. Sense he’s only in spinoff Mario games, (and oddly not even any Wario ones) maybe they can do something with that having him fight with his tennis racket, (he debuted in Mario Tennis N64) “DDR Mario Mix” dance moves, “G&W Gallery 4 “boxing gloves, and such.  
And they could incorporate his stomp attack from his assist trophy self, and give him a clumsy running attack too. So maybe he could work, though he wouldn’t bring much new, sense other characters like Peach already have similar attacks, and such.

People said that after SSB WiiU was made, and Brawl, as well, I recall. (We keep thinking, “There’s no way they can make a new/better SSB,” yet they somehow do.)  
I’m sure there will be a new one, though on a new different system.
 
Sakurai states the “Everyone is here” thing will probably just be a one shot thing though. (And was probably done for the series’ 20th anniversary this year.) So they might have to scrap some characters.

I’ve pointed this out before (and I absolutely hate that I apparently have to keep doing so), but there’s easily a couple ways around any issues with making an Assist Trophy character playable.
 
-Give the playable version a different appearance to help tell the two apart (i.e. Assist Trophy Waluigi has the purple overalls, while playable Waluigi has his tennis uniform from Mario Tennis Aces)  
-Just have the Assist Trophy non-summonable whenever the playable version is in the fight (there’s already certain stages where certain Assist Trophies won’t show up, like Knuckles in Green Hill Zone or Alucard in Wii Fit Studio)
 

 
This statement doesn’t hold water when the game already has stuff like Echo Fighters, semi-clones like Ganondorf and Isabelle, as well even unique characters cribbing some animations and attacks from others (such as Hero using some of the same attack animations as Link and Marth). Smash already has characters who play very similarly to others, so why would Waluigi having similar attacks to Peach and Daisy be a point against him? You might as well say that Terry Bogard, a fighting game character who uses hand-to-hand combat and ki attacks, shouldn’t be DLC because Ultimate already has Ryu and Ken.

Perhaps, but they could make up for it in some ways, or improve some things, as well.
 
Like one minor flaw SSBU has is, while it has a huge abundance of classic & beloved stages returning, (which I love, don’t get me wrong) it has very few new ones. So the next game might focus on mostly more new stages.

Perhaps, but still having a character be both an assist, and playable in the same game might still feel strange, and fans might feel it’s unfair he gets to be both, and demand other assists like Krystal be, as well. So that might open a can of worms.
 
Also, you don’t need to be so defensive over Waluigi, as I have nothing against him, I just said he wouldn’t bring much new to the series, but perhaps still be a fun fighter. Not every character is or has to be 100% unique.

It’s no more strange than Chrom being made playable, yet also still being part of Robin’s Final Smash.

At least it was Sans and not any of the FNAF characters.

I’ve still been playing MHGU though - I’m just about to fight the Fated Four in High Rank.

I never actually played Four Swords because the GBA Link Cable was never released where I am AFAIK.

Really, i’m willing to bet almost every rule the Smash fanbase has made up to be broken. With Sakurai you never know what will happen, even if a character is an assist trophy, I don’t think anything is stopping them from showing up eventually. Only real thing holding them back is that they won’t generate the same excitement 3rd parties and new franchises would bring, which Sakurai seems to be prioritizing
 
Only one thing for sure, “video games only” is sticking around, as Sakurai has been real explicitly clear on that

What’s your opinion on your first classic game compared to World?

Zamtrios is one of my favourite monsters and I wish he was in Iceborne.  
Also, holy shit, High Rank Zinogre kicked my ass - I didn’t have any problems with him in Low Rank.

I love it. I definitely miss some of World’s improvements, but GenU is still one of my favourite games of all time.
