I had this idea for a RWBYxBleach crossover, where characters from Bleach are replaced by RWBY ones.
Only leaders have Bankai, which means Ruby and Jaune both have Bankai. As for the record, their Shikai is basically their normal hunter weapons, while their Bankai are much more badass.
Ruby Rose
Shikai: Crescent Rose
Shikai ability: When she cuts something, the wound will not heal unless she allows it. She often does small but deep wounds in order to increase bleeding rate, which then her opponent passes out from blood loss.
Bankai: Crescent Rose Full Moon
Bankai ability: Unlike her Shikai, her Bankai does not deal physical wounds but instead creates a ghostly projection of the Grim Reaper behind her wielding a large axe and scythe. Anything cut by this ghost will lose its soul depending on where it’s cut (cut an arm, now you can’t use it). Without a soul there, you are unable to use nor feel it. The soul removed is sent back to her where she can use to rejuvenate herself from wounds. It can also be used to materialize her Bankai, making actual physical damage.
Bankai weaknesses: Her Bankai constantly consumes soul energy, so she has to stock them up or else it’ll consume her own and render her weak afterwards. The ghost also has a slow speed, but when materialized is much faster. However, that consumes soul energy.
Jaune Arc
Shikai: Crocea
Shikai ability: His Shikai can release powerful slash attacks in the direction he wishes, which can often achieve a ranged attack status due to the energy slash. His shield enables him to create a strong force field in front of him to protect himself and his comrades from harm.
Bankai: Crocea Mors Finale
Bankai ability: His Bankai is the shape a broadsword, but it’s true ability encompasses his entire being. His Bankai is the strongest among the captains, by generating an immeasurable power around him like armor. His attacks are unmatched, and he himself cannot be wounded in this stage. He becomes a living God in a sense, unkillable by any attack.
Bankai weaknesses: His Bankai has a strict one minute limit upon use. He can only use it once per day, and is left extremely weak once the time limit ends. Another secret weakness is that he’s not all powerful from the beginning, as he is only the strongest at the very last second. His power grows during the entire minute but it’s just so high that no one could tell the difference.
