That’s it. Just be a fun goofy movie about five teenagers in brightly colored outfits fighting evil. And occasionally using giant robots that come together to make an even bigger giant robot.

Random shit: I’ve talked about this briefly but apparently the reason why China’s trying to start shit but not actually start a war is that they’re running out of natural resources and are pretty much running the country’s future into the ground.
A fourth of the country is already desert and their farmland is in severe danger. They have about a decade worth of oil left, they’re running out of coal, running out of water, they’re extremely polluted and just generally running out of resources in general.
In a decade or so chances are mainland China is going to start economically sliding back into being a third world country.

but honestly I want the Power Rangers movie to be a huge success and start a Toku boom in the west
thing is, that sort of thing has no chance of pulling away the type of people i want to stay into anime, but it has a good chance of pulling the people i want to go out of anime
essentially the toku fandom can be a dumping ground for cancerous and completely lacking in self-awareness anti-weebs if all goes perfectly well, although that’s unlikely to be the case admittedly
and if that gets squared away then everything else i want to happen is more or less given a small window of opportunity to fall in line
stagnating or even decreasing growth, lack of dubbing and official releases bringing back the return of dedicated fansubbing communities, the like
although sadly that’s really unlikely, the era of streaming services, broadened appeal and more avenues for the west to contribute to the anime industry is upon us, and my ambition is to essentially set us back about a decade or a decade and a half maybe, except with the modern anime demographic in place of the one from 10 - 15 years ago, basically purge and then go back to the roots in a nutshell
but that would require the death of netflix picking up anime and the death crunchyroll/daisuke, the like, and if that all stopped being a thing then goodie goodie, but things couldn’t truly take off so long as they’re around, and it doesn’t seem like they’re dying anytime soon, sadly, and likely wouldn’t be too hurt by a toku boom given that CR at least already has that sort of thing afaik

Yeah, pretty much.
Our definitions of what makes a bad weeb probably lie on complete opposite ends of the spectrum, to be fair. And I mostly want them gone because it can be a gateway to the much desired shrinking in the anime fandom that I’m wanting so badly.

It’s really, really unlikely, to the point of irrationality because of how oddly specific of a path events would have to go in, yeah, and all of those events don’t have a high chance of happening with several other paths being much much more likely. I can acknowledge that.
But there’s a small chance it could all work out so hey, if something provides any chance whatsoever I’m all for it, given the current circumstances being completely stacked against that happening.
