You know I would say I am surprised Lily is now using her Native blood as a shield against criticism but then I remember this is Lily and of course she’ll use anything she can think of as a shield against criticism.

A common defense of dark/“adult” stories is that it “teaches people about life” or that there are certain things only dark stories can tell you. That a dark story can go places where light hearted stuff can. And that removing dark tones, violance, gore and death only soften things. What is your take on that?
“Dark” stories rarely actually teach you about life, only a brutally cynical asshole’s idea of life. The vast majority of people will not ever experience anything close to the violence, gore, dark tones, and death that some stories like to portray. In fact, the most common experience of life is Cinderella: Subjected to the whims of a petty asshole and then saved from those whims by the additional whims of whomever you’ve made a good first impression on.Just replace “Wicked Stepmother” with “Boss” and “Prince Charming” with “New Opportunity.” Most of us get a lucky break in life when we least expect it.Additionally, teaching people about life doesn’t actually require the overt violence and gore that some people think it does. “Themes” are not actually tied to a rating. If you can think of an R-Rated movie that absolutely NEEDED it’s R-Rating in order to work as a movie, you’re actually flat out wrong. Smart writers can make any theme work with any content restriction. It’s no surprise that the people who advocate for “MORE GRIMDARK” are so myopic and have such little grasp of not only the world itself but of art.

Lily… Most of the Disney Princesses are 15/16/17.
They appear in their original stories in Birth By Sleep, and by Kingdom Hearts 3 11 years have passed. Which means in KH3 they’re around 26/27/28 and Aqua’s 30-31.
Some people would argue that being allowed to support Sylvanas is pointless since Blizzard is setting her up for failure and for Saurfang to be the winner. But I’m okay with supporting the losing side entirely on the basis that the one who lost was smarter and more pragmatic and the other guy was a deranged lunatic who will let us all die to feed his narcissistic fantasies. That’s basically how the 2016 election went.

A trans friend of mine told me that people misgendering her isn’t a big deal for her. Now that’s on her but she also said it’s petty to correct people because alot of people tend to take it too far and are to sensative about it.That “you should expect the world bend to your will over something so small.” I tried telling her that it’s about common decency and not all people are that sensative but she tried bringing “logic over emotions.” I feel like she’s being fed right wing rhetoric, is she?
Her garbage opinions do not have any more weight just because she’s transgender. If she mouths off about this again, just say “Fuck off.”Cut this walking Friend Argument out of your life

Since you used one of his videos as an example, what do you think of the pop culture detective and of his takes? I used to enjoy them but the last Jedi one was just… Bad. So I unsubscribed. I get the feeling you don’t like him much? (I mean, beyond his prequel trilogy take which you’ve just talked about. Though if you want to expand on that I’d be really happy!)
Pop Culture Detective makes a career off bad takes that are willfully dishonest. His two Big Bang Theory videos horribly misrepresent the actual show (he claims it’s promoting misogyny and toxic geek culture when in reality it’s holding those things down for multiple beatings over and over again) and rely on an unfamiliarity with the work to get by.His “Case Against The Jedi” video take the idea that the Jedi are the bad guys as some kind of accident from a movie where the Jedi’s actions are supposed to be seen as heroic, but in reality the Jedi being the bad guys is an explicit theme in literally every fucking Star Wars movie. It’d be like if I went into a video and say “Hey guys, I have a crazy theory, but what if The Lion King is… like… Hamlet with Lions?”The guy’s a complete hack.

I’ve noticed that many people seem to insult your wife a lot. Why do they do that and what do they think they’re accomplishing in doing it?
My stalkers are trying desperately to convince themselves that Lizzy is insane or has “Stockholm Syndrome” because Lizzy has universally contradicted the deranged accusations of being some manipulative and abusive villain. So they’ve been concocting all these elaborate armchair diagnosis and pretending to be concerned about her in a really condescending way.But on the flipside of that, it’s common knowledge that I’ve sacrificed several big things in my life for Lizzy because she’s been so good to me that she’s worth it. And a lot of people have knee-jerk reactions about that because they can’t imagine the idea that someone isn’t as selfish as they are, and so they just shit-talk Lizzy whenever they possibly can. It’s absolutely horrible that my stalkers try to rope Lizzy into their petty grudges about me, but I find it especially disgusting when those who claim to be my friends do it.I’ve kicked more people out of my life in the last year because they wouldn’t stop talking down to or about Lizzy than for any other reason. I will not tolerate people with little to no information trying to pretend they know my relationship with my wife better than I do.
