Why do people assume Lily has no experience with the things she talks about??? First it’s she doesn’t have autism, now it’s she’s never experienced medical abuse? Like, dismantle the argument. Even if she wasn’t autistic, her argument doesn’t change! What’s next? She’s not LGBT? (Also, from someone who’s seen and experienced police brutality, no one is going to shoot a suicidal person. At most they’d be committed)

Let’s rip the fucking bandage off.

They’re fucking crybabies. The people who flip their goddamn shit because someone things Sheldon does more good than harm aren’t really all that concerned with Autism advocacy. If they were, they wouldn’t be throwing all their toys out of the pram over Sheldon.

Sheldon just isn’t a point of contention among larger activism groups. They don’t care about him because he’s benign. He’s neither positive nor negative. He’s useful for communicating aspects of Autism to parents and teenagers and that’s about it. The people who claim I’ve said Sheldon is “amazing autism representation” are lying through their teeth because “great representation” is not part of my critical vocabulary.

They have to claim I know nothing about Autism to bring things down to their level. They can only argue with their own persecution complex and they NEED to characterize everything as “A neurotypical person talking down to them.” They don’t know how to argue anything else because their own expertise doesn’t go beyond some Youtube rants about the Big Bang Theory and a half-drunk rant from Mr Enter about Autism Speaks.

That’s why they’re constantly erasing my actual experiences because the conclusions I drew from those experiences doesn’t line up with their own and they can’t handle that because they need to believe they speak for everything.
Some people asked “Why didn’t you mention being autistic in your Sheldon video?” The answer to that question was that it was in the script, but it was among the many things that got cut because the script was too long. I cut it because my experience as a counselor granted me more insight about Autism than simply being autistic. So I went with the fact that I was a counselor for two years. I was diagnosed with Autism at 8 and knew absolutely nothing about it until 11 years later and I started reading about it because that’s how expertise works

I lampshaded that in the Sheldon video: “People who’s sole, dubious claim to expertise regarding Autism is the biologically unimpressive achievement of having it.”

I experienced medical abuse from the IWK. Did I conclude that all therapy was abusive? No. I concluded that the IWK just didn’t give a shit about the mental health of kids and spent the next few years making things better by volunteering at an organization I wished I’d had access to when I was a kid. Actually doing something.

This is little more than bitchy Tumblr Tots who didn’t want to put in any effort. They have one bad experience and give up. I learned a long time ago that attitude wasn’t going to help me or anybody else and I thoroughly discourage it. Unfortunately they get a megaphone because well adjusted autistic people have better things to do than sit on social media bitching about Sheldon all fucking day.

But the feelings of a grown-ass adult shouldn’t be anybody’s concern. They’re big enough to handle their own shit. I prioritize educating children and their parents so those children grow up as smoothly and hassle-free as possible.

And in that respect, Sheldon is more useful than whatever Netflix drama, Neurotypical cartoon character you can project onto or Overwatch Trivia will ever be.

The fact that these people need to speculate on my life instead of asking (and then denying the things I say regardless) is evident how much they’re projecting and making excuses for their ego. This “CriticalAlexandrite” who’s been crying about me for days never once contacted me about any of this. They just got third-party accounts from two people and started going off.

Shows how little they give a shit about anything but their own persecution complex.
