To record a conversation, you require the consent of at least one party in the conversation. That party can be yourself. You can record conversations that you are a part of, you cannot record other people’s conversations.

I broke no law by recording the conversation between myself and Flame Douche.

Why don’t you ever pick through all these accusations against you?

I lack the resources to definitively prove how much bullshit is being pushed, like databases, logfiles and original documents, due to the fact that I just didn’t archive anything. Especially since many of these accusations are upwards of 7-10 years old.

It’s easy to fake screenshots, but if you don’t have the original post/chat then it’s hard to prove that it is a fake. Ultimately I rely on the fact that my explanations are often more grounded in reality than the increasingly deranged and constantly changing accusations.

But also it’s a matter of Double Jeopardy. Personally, I refuse to continue responding to the same accusation for the rest of my life. There has to be a point where I stop responding to deranged bullshit and let it sit in the void gathering dust. Just because some people are determined to keep screaming in the hopes that I’ll stop trying to make the community safer for children doesn’t mean I should be expected to have the same discussions over and over and over again.

Oh I know it is. I’m not stupid. It’s someone flailing desperately. A lot of these people are just getting more and more desperate because their bullshit isn’t sticking.

We’ve all been on a forum before. We’ve all seen someone scream “FIGHT ME IRL!”

Besides, it’s not actually serious. I found out who it was and it wasn’t one of my abusers. Just some gamergator that I kicked out of my social circle for… well exactly shit like this. Chest beating, posturing, and constantly making violent threats at anyone who looked at him funny.

People who call themselves rational or logical are often never rational or logical. Voice of Reason’s been a pissbaby for a long time, having extremely fucked priorities. Like many people, his favorite distraction tactic is to cry “HYPOCRITE!” because like most of the internet he’s a fucking moron who values being forthright over being actually right.

Because many people are equally as stupid, crying “hypocrite” is often the easiest way to silence criticism or at least make sure more people are likely to ignore it.
