Being trans doesn’t make you immune to criticism but I do think Lizzy has a point. Deliberately calling Lily by her old name comes off as rather petty and rude. And some people, especially other people that are LGBT, will likely not listen if you do call her by her old name.
 
And before anyone brings up the horrible things Lily has done, I’m aware of them (I wouldn’t be here if I wasn’t). I’m sure some of you think it’s good to fight fire with more fire and think she deserves to still be called a he or Jerry. But I don’t think fighting dirty or stooping to Lily’s level will work or get outsiders to listen. Likewise I think it does come off as disrespectful to other trans people.

Lily may be a jerk but a lot of trans people aren’t and just want to live their lives peacefully. But instead people treat them with disrespect and as complete jokes.

I actually like some of those ideas for a bunch of DC movies. Minus what she did to Batman, I don’t really have too much complaints here. I think the DCMU would have been a lot better had they focused less on Batman and Superman and set up a bunch of solo movies for the others.

She has a dog? I’m surprised she’s that stressed out and angry with one. (Or maybe it does help behind the scenes but we don’t know about that.)
 
When my dog was still alive, he helped me cope a ton with my depression and anxiety. Obviously, it was no cure by any means, but it really did help me calm down, wind down, and get my mind off my problems. Whenever my depressive or intrusive thoughts would get really bad (to the point I’d think of hurting myself), I’d always think to myself, “If you hurt/kill yourself, your dog will be devastated. Who would make sure he’s being taken care of properly?”

A lot of trans people don’t even take her seriously in her saying she’s trans… Not forgetting that time when she downright said a trans girl was raped by daddy cuz she was disagreeing with Lily.
 
Also, I don’t want to know what he’s doing with that dog… Considering if it’s true or not that she has one. Wouldn’t be the first lie.

I’m not too surprised to hear that Lily was being a hypocrite or ignoring criticism.
 
Shame she thinks that about about Batman. Can’t really say I’m too surprised since a lot of fans only want dark and gritty Batman too. I personally like dark and gritty Batman too but I’m also a fan of campy Batman as well. And then you have certain adaptions that blend both humor and darkness rather well (like my favorite adaption, Batman: The Animated Series).

Yeah, there could be the chances that she’s faking but as far as I know, only she herself knows that aspect about her life. It’s not my call. It’s not anyone’s call but hers.
 
I also remember that time where she said that to that. I thought what she said was honestly really immature, disgusting, and deplorable. When she doesn’t get her own way or when people don’t agree with her, she acts dirty and digs deep.

yeah Peet has also shown that she doesn’t like the idea of show creators making a show darker as the audience grows up. She seems to think that all cartoons have to be these happy go lucky shows. Lord help her if she ever runs across My Hero Academia which is a sort of darker take on superheroes.

And I can see what she means slightly. Sometimes people go a bit too overboard with the dark and grittiness. But if put under the right hands, I think it can work pretty well.

yeah she does hate anime about the only modern anime she wants to watch is Sweetness and Lightning but since it doesn’t have dub she isn’t trying to watch it. Which is a shame I’ve read the manga and it is a pretty good story.

What’s it about?

It is about a single man named Kohei Inuzuka who has lost his wife to death six months prior to the story. So he
 
is raising his daughter Tsumugi Inuzuka who I assume is about 4 or 5 years old. the 3rd main character is a
 
student of his named Kotori Iida she likes food and is I assume about 16 or 17. Anyway the three would meet at
 
event and at the time he was unaware of her being his student but she invites him to her mothers restaurant. Oh
 
forgot to mention Kohei has mostly been buying his daughter store bought meals. One night he comes goes to the
 
restaurant with his daughter. He helps make the meal and from there the plot is him learning to cook home made
 
meals for his child. It is part of the slice of life genre.

it is a cute story. The student teaches her teacher how to cook and Tsumugi is indeed a ball of cute. All in all it is a pretty nice little story.

according to Wikipedia it is about 12 episodes long and no mention of a possibly of a season 2.

yeah Sweetness and Lightning is a relatively new manga and anime series. According to Wikipedia the series started in 2013 on March and is about nine volumes so far for the Manga.

I might look into the manga too. Just in case they stop after season 1. Or if they, y’know, go into a really long hiatus.

yeah they could be waiting for more volumes to come out before doing more animation. I need to get more of the manga for Jojo my self. They’ve been using the hardcover version that has multiple volumes worth in there and I just need one more to complete Phantom Blood. It also helps kill time while I wait for the English dub to the 2012 anime Stardust Crusaders to get finished

I never thought of that but that could be possible. I wish you luck in completing the manga collection.
 
I haven’t been keeping up with the dub too much but I occasionally watch it on Adult Swim. I prefer the Japanese version but I still really like the dub (I really like the dub’s version of Jotaro).

I do have to admit the art in the manga is something that takes getting use to and I kid you not at 12 in the manga Johnathan looked like he was suppose to be in a Archie comic and some how got lost and wound up in 1800’s England.

I was thinking more of something out of Fist of the North Star. The style of the manga was definitely heavily inspired by that at the time. But yeah, it takes a while to get used to the art in the manga but once you get used to it, it’s a fun read.
