So, MLP villains from best to worst?

King Sombra
Twilight Sparkle
Lord Tirek

Gloriosa Daisy
Queen Chrysalis
The Storm King
Princess Luna
Princess Luna with Bacon Hair
Princess Luna with a Broken Horn
Princess Luna with Extra Darkness
Princess Luna Making Equestria Great Again
Am I asking too much when I ask that a character design not be repeated so many times in a row? Is it too hard for the writers to not do a sob story past and last minute redemption? We had that in villains before, but ever since Rainbow Rocks it seems that villains aren’t allowed to go by just being a malevolent force. They have to have a sob story about being slighted by their friends in the past and then be won over to Friendship. It’s not the concept of redemption I hate. It’s the fact that they’ve told the same fucking story over and over and over again and I’m bored of it.

This next one is a spoiler for the MLP:FIM movie so don’t click on the link unless you’ve seen the movie or don’t give a care about spoilers.

The third act takes an underutilized by impressively designed character and turns her into another Starlight Glimmer. A bitter misanthrope who never quite grew out of the petulant tantrum phase of their lives. This is the problem with this kind of backstory. They try really hard to tug on the heartstrings with sob stories about being rejected, but considering everything they’ve done since… this isn’t enough

I know you think Seth MacFarlane is an ally, but aren’t you even a little concerned that bigots find Family Guy empowering? Or think Seth is on their side? He’s at best a very problematic element.
All in the Family has a misaimed fandom of people who think Archie Bunker is right, despite the show being as subtle as a brick through the window.
Full Metal Jacket, MAS*H and A Few Good Men are beloved by the military despite those works all being extremely critical of the military and the psychological damage it does to young men with it’s chest-pounding bravado.
My Little Pony had a bit about gender-fluidity and some bronies thought that the writers at DHX were making fun of it.
Martin Luther King is lauded by white moderates, despite King explicitly declaring white moderates to be the worst kind of people.
Jesus Christ is worshipped by conservatives despite the fact that if he were alive today they’d be decrying him as a prissy, “cultural marxist” sjw.
At what point to we remember that conservatives are fucking stupid by design? Why is it only Seth MacFarlane that we have to mark down because some people are too stupid to realize that he’s explicitly calling them morons whenever Peter repeats something they agree with?
Yeah, MacFarlane is problematic. So are MOST white liberals. I’ll take a problematic ally over active and deliberate hostility any day. Problematic allies get better. Hostile assholes do not.
I love how Peet is dissing white liberals I mean she could of said most liberals but not had to stick it to her own skin color.

things I wish autism research actually tried to figure out:
why caffeine works for some of us, but not all, and even then it often depends on the way you take it and the dosage
how come all of us have gastrointestinal problems?
addendum to the above: what exactly are our gastrointestinal problems? are we genetically more likely to have autism be comorbid with gluten sensitivity/colitis/IBS/lactose intolerance/whatever else or is it something completely different? is it psychosomatic? the fuck
okay but how does being sensory-seeking work. and what does stimming do to your brain. what neurological function are we facilitating with flapping hands and rocking back and forth and spinning? wouldn’t it be great if we had a serious long-term study of the brain on stimming?
are you more likely to be autistic and LGBT?
what are things we do better than neurotypicals?
but no it’s always “how do we train the animals to be something they’re not” or “but what made you this way??” or “Time To Find A Cure”
lily-peet
The same reason it works for some NT people and not others. Individual brain chemistry reacts differently to caffeine. People who are prone to anxiety should avoid caffeine. Some autistic people are extremely prone to anxiety as a result of an unsupportive environment.
Gastrointestinal problems are not found in 100% of autistic people, but studies have found the increased likelihood of gastrointestinal issues to be caused by differences in gastrointestinal bacteria.
See above.
Stimming allows the brain to focus on a predictable pattern it is creating itself. Predictable patterns do not overload the brain in the way chaotic/disorganized information often does, and focusing one’s attention on such an action inherently deafens the brain to outside stimuli.
No. These two factors are independent from one another and no link in has been found.
Analytical problem solving and Pattern recognition
There is no research into “How do we train the animals to be something they’re not.” The closest thing possible to that is alternative education into non-verbal communication, which autistic people are more than capable of learning provided the educator adjusts these lessons for the different methods an autistic brain uses of processing information. Teaching autistic people the non-verbal social skills that NT people learn intuitively is extremely easy.
Psychologists already know what causes autism: Autism affects information processing in the brain by altering how nerve cells and their synapses connect and organize.
There is no “cure” for Autism, but a well-educated individual with Autism who is informed of how it affects them and how to mitigate it’s potentially negative effects will be indistinguishable from a neurotypical person in their adulthood.
The research you’re asking for is being done, you just didn’t bother to look for it.

What are the worst books you read in school?
Lord of the Flies, Tuck Everlasting, A Stranger Came Ashore, Number the Stars and Bridge to Terabithia
I wonder if Peet thinks Bridge to Terebithia is one of the worst books because the girl dies in the story. I mean
yeah it stinks when kids die but fiction shouldn’t be all sunshine and rainbows. Then again she is the retard
who takes MLP:FIM to seriously.

killer-kid-konan asked:
what did you not like about Bridge to Terabithia?
The book is a dull, unmemorable waste of time trying really hard to be about two kids bonding, but with very little that actually stimulates. It’s similar to Old Yeller in that were it not for THAT scene, it would not be considered a classic.
The movie is better than the book entirely on the fact that they hyper-inflated Leslie’s whimsical impact on everyone around her because the fact that she dies at the end is the only reason you even knew this book existed and every scene is filled with “You already know where this is going.”

I really like the Game Grumps, but it seems like a good chunk of their fans are paint-drinking morons who warble about “the SJews are ruining society!” and other crap like that. Which really sucks because it seems like Arin and Danny are really decent people? Any idea about why their fans suck major horse-cock?

You realise that because you’ve dared mentioned Josh again everyone’s gonna be screeching about how you’re oh so obsessed with him, right?
They’re gonna do that anyway, so why should I go out of my way to avoid taking the opportunity to whip the sniveling asshole some more?
Peet: Starlight Glimmer needs to grow up and get over her self
Also Peet: Josh deserves to be tormented by me because he is a republican.

If I’m ever in a position where I am subjected to the death penalty, I want my last words to be a joke.
“Any last words?”
Lethal Injection - “My teachers always said drugs would kill me. This probably wasn’t what they had in mind, though.”
Electric Chair - “I’m a little tired. Let me recharge my batteries.”
Firing Squad - “I guess you can call me a tall drink of Michigan water.”
noxumbre
Guillotine - “Just take a little of the top, thanks”
lily-peet
Hanging - “When you asked if I wanted to hang out, this isn’t quite what I had in mind.”
Gas Inhalation - “They offered me a last smoke, but I thought it was kinda overkill.”
Stoning - “I WANNNA ROCK! ROCK!”
Crucifixion - “This is the song that doesn’t end! Yes it goes on and on my friend! Some people started singing it not knowing what it was…”
pumpkinpieowl asked:
Did you hear about the transgender woman who raped a ten-year-old recently? Cause hoo boy, conservatives are losing their minds (and their reading comprehension skills, apparently) and polishing their hate-boners REAL fast.
Conservatives don’t care about children being sexually assaulted. Republican politicians and pundits are constantly being wrapped up in child sex scandals, and their reaction is either to ignore it, handwave it with excuses, or elect the perpetrator President.
If it wasn’t a trans woman who had committed this crime, they wouldn’t give a shit.
It’s (obviously) horrible and I wish I believed in hell so I could imagine that evil, vile, disgusting woman burning in it. But let’s not pretend that most Republican politicians wouldn’t have imitated her crime if they thought they could get away with it. They’ll be burning in hell right next to her.
I have no qualms in engaging in Whataboutism when Tory Scum pretends to care about other people’s well being. If they did care they wouldn’t be dragging their feet on mandatory minimum rape sentences, gun control and universal health care.
Oh look Peet acting like all Republicans are horrible again.
