Given that the definition of Tyranny is essentially a cruel/harsh dictatorship with total power ruling over an oppressed society, I don’t see that happening. 1, you’d be very hard pressed to find many of the 43% of gun owning American households willing to support that in the first place, and 2, arming such a massive number of people kinda goes against the whole total power and control as well as oppressive society angle that comes with tyranny.

The force needed to impose tyranny need not come from an official army - well-armed civilian followers do just as well, especially if they have more guns than most of the rest of the populace and know how to use them better too. And it also gives a layer of plausible deniability.

The independentist leaders who organized the 2017 referendum got sentenced by the Spanish Supreme Court to prison sentences ranging from 9 to 13 years.
 
As a result, the entire region rose in protest against this new affront to their collective decision. Today is a day of general strike and massive “freedom marchs” are converging towards Barcelona. President of the Catalan Government Quim Torra announced that he was already willing to organize a new referendum, while his predecessor in exile, Carles Puigdemont, called from Brussels the Catalan people to turn the next Spanish general election in November into “a mass demonstration of rejection and steadfastness” against that verdict.

I’ve explained the situation multiple times in this thread alone, but the short of it is the region’s elites have spent the last hundred+ years drumming up support for independence by rewriting history because they were initially mad their Carlist pretender to the throne lost the bid.
 
Since then it’s just been an Ouroboros of self-feeding nationalism, xenophobia, and racism, which at the moment is mostly controlled by the descendants of nobles that have an economic stake in independence (via their years of corruption and owned businesses) and their NEET descendants (some outright fascist, some pretending to be leftists) that grew up on all the propaganda.
 
As for the “vote”, it was a sham referendum that only those wanting independence actually participated in and was loaded with irregularities (evidence of people voting multiple times, nevermind no transparency in how it was counted). The spanish state accused those it believed in charge of sedition and rebellion based on evidence that they used the regional police force to hinder the national police force, that they coordinated with extremist groups to kick off violent protests that could be caught on camera, and that they used public funds for the referendum. They were recently found guilty of sedition, but not rebellion as the acts of violence weren’t seen as “dangerous enough”.

2 problems with that is:
 
A) Trump has repeatedly advocated ignoring and outright slandering Due Process. Literally the very thing that gives citizens protection against tyranny and Trump hates it.
 
B) Trump has in fact publicly advocated just taking guns without bothering with, again, Due Process. Your cornerstone defense of Das Fuhrer is ‘at least I get keep my guns’ but, well, re-click the blue sentence and hear it from the bald orangutan himself.

I’m not convinced that you’re being entirely objective about it.  
On the other hand, for decades now, the Spanish right-wing People’s Party has shot down at every turn the efforts of the Catalan government to reach a compromise that didn’t involve independence — notably when a new draft of the Statute of Autonomy, which had been approved by both the Catalan and Spanish parliaments (albeit with some revisions) and put to referendum in 2006 got challenged on constitutionality grounds and pretty much gutted by the Spanish National Court, thus exacerbating the Catalan opinion further toward independence. Then Mariano Rajoy absolutely refused any discussion with the elected independentist coalition, his only response being repression when the referendum got illegally organized and the independence proclaimed (like I said before, had the referendum been allowed to take place in regular conditions and reflected the trend of polling data, the Catalans might’ve said “no” to the independence by a narrow margin, like the Scots did in UK three years prior; but now, after being spat upon by Madrid a few times too many, the general sentiment may just have irrevocably shifted in its favor).
