A lot of people blame India & China for pollution and as an excuse that nothing the US does will help because they have high populations, while that is true, the per-capita consumption of electricity is still very low in India & China compared to USA, where people use almost 10-50 times the power of an average person from those countries.It is similar to blaming a man who is buying a ceiling fan for causing Global warming while you have multi-ton ACs that consume 10000x the power of the fan all around you.Also, it has something to do with good ole’ American racism.
India and China produce the majority of the worlds greenhouse gasses, so some people use that as an excuse to let themselves of the hook. This is despite the fact that the reason those countries produce so much co2 is because most western countries outsource their production/manufacturing to Asian countries for increased profits.

It means to keep it focused on the community affected by it instead of making it a national concern. For example, the Christchurch shooting should’ve had its media focus contextualised to NZ (for media outside the country), and contextualised for Christchurch alone (for media inside the country).
I will note the irony of a certain background pony poster here who goes on and on about the effects of media, yet will immediately jump on media that confirms their biases…

It’s certainly well-intentioned - but also doomed. A bunch of people dying isn’t something that can or should be covered up. And the mainstream press is hardly the only outlet for news. Do you really want all mass shootings to be revealed by conspiracy blogs?

Literally only because of name recognition and nostalgia for being Obama’s VP. Even any appeal he might have as a Centrist Democrat (re:Republican in denial) isn’t enough for moderates since his poll numbers go down every time he opens his mouth.
Incidentally his campaign has begun a new strategy in light of the above: don’t campaign so his numbers won’t continue to drop.
