Ignoring Marcie Bianco’s unsavory views about gender, Bianco has a point: space exploration isn’t so much about exploration as it is about migrating from Earth to other planets, particularly habitable planets, to colonize them. Having said that, most people don’t know how to take care of Earth’s ecosystems properly nor have environmental awareness, so to explore and colonize habitable planets without developing a sense of what not to do to the ecosystems of habitable planets, would be, in the dark, to place a torch on the ground and walk away from its light to explore in a gradually approaching darkness.

I’m more angry with people using the students both alive and dead to push their agenda. Trying to sway opinions using emotion and tragedy. If your argument can stand on it’s own, then it doesn’t need a grave.

Apparently, the racist and anti-LGBT that was attributed to Bill Graham was actually said by his son, Franklin Graham who was puppeting around his father. Bill himself was strongly against evangelical christianity becoming a political force.

And I agree with those three points. My point is to not touch habitable planets until we develop a sense of what not to do when we decide to colonize them.

Honestly, with the sheer timescale involved in creating a viable program for putting people on Mars, let alone anywhere else in the Solar system, let alone anywhere beyond that, I feel that starting to worry about the space race now is… honestly, good planning. It’s going to take us a decade or two at least to see foot on Mars, decades more to make even a small self-sustaining colony, and centuries before we’ll ever leave the Solar system. With the sheer time it will take us to get anywhere, we might as well lay the groundwork now. That way, in some hypothetical future where we’ve fixed everything here on Earth, we won’t have to start from nothing and waste centuries doing what we could have taken care of already.

As someone else pointed out, the same thing happened with Sandy Hook back in 2012, where one of the victim’s siblings was actually harassed on social media for their sibling being an “actor” and “faking it”. Even Alex Jones was shouting at the mountaintops at how it was nothing more than a Hollywood Blockbuster.

If so, then this would actually be a pretty good idea. Shame it had to take something like this to cause it to happen.
