@fobone
I’m just saying I don’t think it’s fair to fire someone over something you don’t know. And like, why speak up now after years?
@Mike
Seriously. Why care if they are powerful men? if it happened nail them to the wall immediately after it happened. Don’t wait years after the fact.
There’s a lot of reasons why they are starting to come to light, most notably because for maybe the first time, people are starting to
believe them. I mean you don’t have to take my word for it. Go and look up the statistics for how frequently rape cases get a conviction. It’s ridiculously small, even in cases where they have tons of physical evidence. And when you add in the ordeal these people face having to relive one of the worst moments of their lives, and the common tendency to treat the victims like
they somehow did something wrong, or caused it, or
wanted it, you begin to see why there’s such a problem. There’s a reason that most experts think a substantial number of rapes go unreported, after all, and all these notable cases have gone unreported because up until very recently these women knew that speaking out would probably only destroy
their lives, and not the piece of garbage that assaulted them.
Besides, no amount of money is worth the kind of negativity accusations like this bring upon the victims. There are far easier ways to earn a living in this world that don’t get you accused of being a slut by political pundits or your family sent death threats.
@Cyborg_pony
@Yoga is boring
It’s really sad when people who judge based on word then evidence. I almost feel it’ll regress back to putting more and more rocks on people’s chest until they “confess”.
Well I feel that when multiple women who have never met before reveal what happened to them and all have the same story, and there’s physical evidence involved, and it’s so prevalent that it’s become common knowledge that people are aware of, they’re probably not lying.
