Unpopular question but fuck it:
Do you believe that Trump, be it intentionally or by complete accident, has truly emboldened the Pro-White Nationalist bigots in America?
Absolutely and unquestionably. Heck, the bigots have admitted as much themselves, though they choose to phrase it differently (“restoring traditional values” and whatnot).
But no, this is a guy who said there were good people on both sides of a conflict where one of the sides was literal Nazis. It would be utter stupidity to think that complete failure to condemn them didn’t further embolden people with similar views, and the rising incidents of hate crimes in this country make it pretty clear it has.
@TheMagpulPone
These people didn’t see Trump get elected and just became killers as a result.
Of course not. They also listened to his angry, factually inaccurate rhetoric and his harmful denunciation of legitimate news sources and saw his racially insensitive/misogynistic tweets and eventually concluded that a worldview they might otherwise have half believed was true to the point that action was needed.
@The Smiling Pony
Trump is racist, and xenophobic, and misogynist. And an egomaniacal narcissist. And actually really damn stupid. But because he’s a complete loudmouth and has a strongman personality, the GOP is terrified of not cowing to him out of fear they’ll lose their constituents for going against or denouncing the leader. It’s really really sad, and frustrating.
I’d have added delusional and a liar in there for good measure, but perhaps those are self evident by this point.
