So in doing minor research I learned that there are two big Digimon wikis, one has a better layout, but it’s also infested with heavy doses of weeb syndrome. Romanized Japanese names for all Digimon who’s names change, or humans, or terms, or anything. It’s a rule but the rules don’t say why it just is. It’s rather pointless and adds needless effort imo that would not be there if the rule wasn’t a thing. It’s still in English, so why does it have to be romanized Japanese names? Does the creator sleep better at night knowing the page for Gatomon is properly called Tailmon? Who honestly cares?
Me, I suppose, as I am writing this. Tho really I see no issue with the concept of preferring Japanese names and terms for a series, really it’s less stupid to just call it evolution as opposed to digivolution, but it’s kind of different when it’s a whole-ass wiki full of it. Just confuse a whole audience of English speakers with your weeb preferences? In that case call it テイルモン then so you’re really pure and untouched by filthy westerners.
I think I’ll stick to the less pretty wiki as it doesn’t force me to relearn things I shouldn’t have to relearn. But maybe I’m crazy and a huge portion of the fanbase is actually like this. I mean all I do is play a game here and there and look at porn.
I have zero issue with people who want to only refer to things with original names if it’s their preference, but when you make a whole wiki with those rules it’s just stupid and makes zero sense.

Kind of reminds me of this one guy who insists on referring to Pokemon characters by their romanized Japanese names.

I have never seen a Pokemon fan do that, but now I’m curious. I do know quite a lot of Japanese Pokemon names by heart, but a lot of them are out of necessity of when gens had long gaps between regions. Piplup will always be Pochama in my heart.
