Actually, it’s that DmC tries too hard to appeal to fans and cowards out of being it’s own thing that’s the problem. At least the Disney EU only uses nods from the Lucas EU, not try to one-up it while trying to copy it.
And I doubt most people sees the Disney EU as “freedom from the Skywalker dynasty.” It’s just Disney’s interpretation of the movies and the events before and after it. The Lucas EU focused on Luke’s bloodline after Return of the Jedi while the Disney one at a new cast who are to do their own thing. It’s two different interpretations, like the Batman cartoon and the Dark Knight trilogy. And the Old Republic has nothing to do with the Skywalkers. Man a Old Republic campaign sounds like fun.

I thought the problem was Ninja Theory spent most of the lead up to release talking how outdated and silly Dante’s design was only to give him white hair and a red jacket for his devil trigger and ending the game with white hair seeming to do a 180 on what they said just like TLJ does on everything it tore into about what’s considered Star Wars only to at the end turn into Star Wars.
To say nothing of Vergil’s heel turn at the end of the game being like Ben just taking over Snoke’s place.
Because that’s what the main story of the movie’s has been about the Skywalker story.
People talk about Rey not being anybody connected with anyone as a plus as if the opposite would be terrible but then you look at Nero where there’s never any doubt he’s part of the family and it’s not seen as a bad thing.

And? Just because there are those that take their opinion and be dicks about it, but it’s kind of your group that’s the vocal one, who are more than willing to consider the Disney movies/EU worst than AIDs on a baby’s dick. They’re different interpretations of the same sources, and should be treated as such. You can prefer one over the other, like how I prefer the Lucas EU due to my love of the Old Republic setting, but I’m also more than willing to give the Disney movies/EU credit where it’s due, since they’re going the harder route and want to do their own thing and write their own stories about the old cast and the events between movies.

The point I was trying to make was DMC was where Star Wars is now.
An interpretation of a beloved character they don’t like the things they did like seemingly chucked and ridiculed by the people in charge and the media.
But near ten years later DMC got to go back to what it’s fans actually liked about it.

Okay first of all The Dark Knight Trilogy is its own continuity and has no baring on any other version (just like All Star Batman and Robin the boy wonder and people still and rightly so mock ridicule and criticize that interpretation) and yes it does replace it.
See this is the problem with your argument: there can be multiple versions of Optimus Prime from psycho Bayformers to morally gray IDW to cartoon Prime learning basketball because that’s how it’s been since the beginning you had they Marvel Comic and the cartoon and numerous other little ancillary bits of media so it’s easier to ignore a version someone doesn’t like because they know a new will eventually come about.
That’s not the case for something like Star Wars where until recently it’s all been one universe (putting aside the what if’s of Infinite) and now the version of Luke that’s in the movie that’s it that’s the canon now that’s the one true interpretation of Luke Skywalker.

They didn’t stop the canon to make him an Autobot that was over half a decade of an existing continuity and again Transformers has over thirty years experience doing that and has been doing that from the start unlike Star Wars that’s only had one “reboot” with one version no longer being relevant even if it does exist as you keep trying to argue and the new one that only matters now.
