One of the biggest reasons it isn’t everywhere is because people are stupid and spiteful; they will grind their physical health into the dirt and not care that it takes thousands of dollars to dig them out again because it’s not “their money” that pays for it.

Canadian here. Free healthcare isn’t all it’s cracked up to be. Aside from the wait times, there’s also the story of my cornea transplant. I needed anti-inflammation drops, painkillers, anti-rejection drugs, and sedatives every few hours or I would lose the cornea overnight. It was free, but instead of a nurse in a hospital administering them, it was my mom in a hotel room.

That is a good point. Universal healthcare needs limitations. If someone gets lung cancer from smoking a pack a day or gets heart disease from being a fat slob with no self control the taxpayers should not have to pay for their self-inflicted illness.

Ok, that sounds bad but let me ask you a question. Do you know how much it costs in Chicago for a patient recovering from spinal surgery to simply lay in a hospital bed and be given medication on a schedule? $13,000 a day! The surgery itself? Over $100,000. Insurance covers the bulk of it but you still have to pay a hefty sum. It’s absolutely outrageous. Your healthcare system may not be perfect but overall I’m sure it’s better than what we have in America.

I can’t stand most of the traditional Thanksgiving foods.

Only one I really don’t like is stuffing, and even then i came around to a few flavors.

This is a true story. I live in North Carolina and every year we have this local parade called The Novant Parade. Well, this local parade is extremely underfunded. To give an example of how bad it is, there was once a bunch of belly dancers that participated in the parade and one of them was so fat her gut was sticking out. It was hilarious. Anyway, one year, they only had one float: the turkey float. And wouldn’t you know it, the parade float crashed. It collided with some traffic lights and it ended up bursting open. It really shows how badly local parades can be.

Why should turkey, stuffing, and sweet potatoes only be Thanksgiving foods? They’re good all year.

I’m watching The Novant Parade and I just saw kids in a box on a golf cart.

I guess turkey is a big bird, And big meals makes you think of a good harvest, and stuffing is pretty obvious.
 
Sweet potatoes i guess just fits in, taste and colorwise.
