Suit yourself. Yes, the old Expanded Universe did have times where it conflicted with itself continuity wise. But even books like Crystal Star and the weakest of the Jedi search series doesn’t make up for the BS going on with Lucasfilm right now. Disney is can do better, they just don’t want to. Plus, Galaxy’s Edge is not actually doing all that well after its launch. And Daisy Ridely(Rey “random nobody scavenger”‘s actress) is very un-expressive in her acting and such though still not as shilled and propped up by many major media outlets as Brie “femmie blandface obsessed with diversity” Larson is. Oh, and if AngryBrony sees this, go ahead and sneer at me all you want with you’re strawmen and excuses for modern feminism; I do not like Captain Marvel, the idealouge director, nor most Marvel comics post-2015.

Seeing as the Lucas EU had several levels of continuity and had stories reconned due to Lucas not telling people what they needed to know (like what the Clone Wars was before the prequels), that’s an understatement.

Agree on the 2nd part. However, I have no inherent problem with multiple levels of continuity. Not everything has to have a B&W canon policy. Look at the DC, Dark Horse, and Marvel comic books and their respective TV and movie adaptations. Even before the 2014 EU wipe, Lucasfilm already had ruled certain pieces of Star Wars media to be flat-out non canon, such as the 1978 Holiday special, the Skippy the Droid comics, 2003 Clone Wars mini-series(after 2007), and a few of the Dark Horse comic books.

sucks the 2003 Clone Wars and the CGI cartoon can’t coexist in the same canon. derg v cad bane would be dope.

Well they kinda do, if we ignore Grievous more extreme OP portrait in the 2003 series. Otherwise it actually fits pretty well together. The thing is, you have to place the first part of the cartoon in the first 6 weeks of the war, which is kinda stretching it. But we have Ventress first appearance, and in TCW they know each other allready. The second part is a bit harder to fit in, the third part is just the battle of coruscant and Anakin’s and Ovi-Wan’s sidequest, it fits in.

You’re forgetting the shear number of continuity layers, which is the problem. Imagine getting into Star Wars only to learn what got you into it is considered trash-tier canon, and your experience is people reminding you that it’s not canon consistently. At least Disney’s one continuity doesn’t have to worry about that, only quality of the work and personal opinions.

I just realized/found out that Batuu the planet that Galaxy’s Edge is suppose to be first appeared in Thrawn Alliances.

Pretty sure he was based on Alpha-17, who only appeared in the comics.

Apparently, his role in the battle of endor was originally filled by a separate character called Nik Sant, who may or may not have been the same character as Rex anyways.
