Hate to sound cliché, but never judge a book by it’s cover. I remember some assumed “Sonic Mania” was going to be bad, and the “Sonic Boom” TV show turned out to be enjoyable, and funny. Plus, as I said Sonic’s design is the least of my concerns. I doubt it’ll be “great,” but it should be enjoyable regardless.
 
In fact, I can understand not giving him the uni-eye, long noodle rubber limbs, or sideways smirk, as they would look odd in live-action. It’s also ironic many are upset he doesn’t look like the modern game Sonic, considering all the bashing of modern Sonic & “green eyes,” have had over the years.  
In fact, the design kinda looks reminiscent of the beloved chubby classic Sonic design in some ways, but with some modern Sonic mixed in too. Which I actually kinda like.

I’m sorry, but with how much of a letdown the hedgehog has been the past 4 years (aside from Mania), he doesn’t get that leisure from me.

People are just going to watch it to riff on it. Then they’ll end up giving their money and make it successful.

Can’t remember if I already said this in the thread (I probably did), but I’m expecting the movie to be bad, but for it to at least be the fun kind of bad. I think those are reasonable expectations.

One thing I like about Shadow the Hedgehog is that he is a serious character.

Just a reminder that Sonic was planned to be a wolf in early concepts

Just having that in mind, no matter if the movie turns good, you will find it bad anyways.

Madonna was the original Elise/Princess Catgirl from the OVA.

There’s enough Sonic-related punching bags already, and frankly I’m already sick of the movie drama/hate already, and they haven’t even made a trailer yet.  
I doubt it’ll be great, but hopefully it’ll still be amusing.
 
Frankly, I still enjoyed the cornball classic Super Mario & Street Fighter movies.

Really?! I don’t remember seeing her. (Post-reboot?) Kinda reminds me of Topaz from SX.
 
I think that’s another reason I prefer the Arche comics canon over IDW. (Not bashing IDW, mind you.) I liked how it used some obscure game/cartoon characters, and gave them new purpose.  
IDW just has familiar modern game characters, and new characters, so it doesn’t have as much variety in the cast. (Does it even have humans, or GUN in it?)

No humans I think there doing that two worlds thing and I think IDW is sticking close to the games canon and the only time shadow was an agent of G.U.N in the games was in the 06 timeline Omega was never a G.U.N agent and Rouge she hasn’t played a major role in the games in years so I don’t know.

Still, even if it is good, the design ALONE could be enough to drive away most fans.
 
Just voicing my opinion here.

Prof. Pickle is way better than Pickle Rick, he eats cucumber sandwiches and is voiced by Dan Green!

We don’t even know what the final design looks like.  
Besides, even if they went by the official designs, classic fans would bitch about “green eyes Sonic,” and if they used Classic Sonic, then they’ll catch flack for “nostalgia pandering,” or “catering to the crazy retro purists. And if they tweaked an official design in any way, (like make Sonic fuzzier like Detective Pikachu) fans will get mad over any change no matter how minor.  
So they can’t win no matter how Sonic looks, half of everyone will be pissed off no matter what.

Still, the game canon has humans, and GUN, so I don’t see how ignoring them is “sticking closer to the games.”
