Everyone always draws fanart of themselves in the Pokemon world surrounded by their favorite pokemon or the ones they used in their game play-through. You see them hugging all these powerful pokemon like Blazikens, Lucarios, Charizards, Dragonites, heck even Legendaries sometimes. But the Pokemon anime shows that 98% of the population with Pokemon are pretty mediocre to below average trainers. If you grew up in the Pokemon world odds are you’d most likely have a Poochyena or something you’d hang out with at best.

Not saying I’m any better, I’d probably be that weird guy with 3 Rattatas.

Reasonable trolling
Do I honestly need to catch Cobalion in order to start the search for the musketeers? Cause the only one I’m wanting Tbh is Terrakion because it being the better choice of the 3 and I wanna be able to use it and level it for the league and stuff

Not sure, there’s a chance you could just defeat it then capture the rest and it will respawn after defeating the Elite 4. Newer games do that but I’m not sure if that game has it.

They’re all modest nature, so no.

That also makes me think, in the Pokemon world not everyone has a Proffesor Oak that will take care of their 40+ Pokemon when they aren’t using them. So space would really be a factor when becoming a trainer, so no 6 Wailord team for you.

Yeah that makes a lot of sense. Coming from either a ranching family, a family with a pokemon professor/Gym leader, or just a stupidly rich family almost seems like a requirement in order to attempt to become a Pokemon Master. Taking care of all those Pokemon can’t be cheap after all.

The Trainers you play as in the video games all have a crazy hidden ability that boosts EXP gained by pokemon by 30 times their normal equivalent, this is why Ace trainers probably have to go through several years of intense rigorous training to get where they are and you just blow through them within a week of owning your first pokemon.

That’s the only excuse I can think of why in the pokemon world most veterans have been training their pokemon for 30+ years and the best their teams are are in their mid 40’s

You should see Chuggaaconroy. He was somehow able to catch most of the legendary pokemon in Black/White with very little trouble. Even he doesn’t understand why he is so lucky with catching Legendaries this time around when he usually has to struggle to catch them even with Ultra balls, Dusk Balls, and timer balls.

Don’t forget, there’s even Trainer schools in the game where kids go to for years before becoming actual trainers on their own.

Honestly I think it may be kinda cool for the Switch Pokemon game to have you go through Training school, where you actually see your character grow up.
