It is. But given the fact that Dragon Ball started off as a comedy manga, they did make fun of Krillin having a weirder design at a few points.

If anything, it was weird for me to see Brock with his eyes perpetually closed at first. The trope grew on me as I saw more anime, and it kinda made sense after viewing the trope page.

…Okay, I can see why you guys swear by combining Pay Day with the Amulet Coin. It’s getting me LOTS of money. And Pay Day having weak power is actually a blessing in disguise, because it means I can use it more and get even more money.

You mean Technician? No, I think my Persian ended up with Limber for its Ability. Plus I’m pretty sure the Technician Ability didn’t exist until Gen IV.

I’ve noticed. Heck, I taught it Shock Wave so that I’d have an Electric move to deal with certain Pokemon… and I’ve ended up barely using it because Pay Day is just so damn useful.

Also, battling the Karate King guy at the Fighting Dojo showed me just how weak the Elemental punches are when they’re running off of Hitmonchan’s very low Special Attack. So I’m thinking that I’ll probably never use one in the Gen III games.
 
Though I might consider evolving a Tyrogue into Hitmonchan in a SoulSilver playthrough… Or maybe if I ever manage to get a copy of HeartGold.
