I really love that D.Va is so much more than just the pilot, that she has the mechanical know-how to work on her mech.
 
Not to mention she’s basically the All Might of South Korea; she’s the shining pillar of protection everyone loves and depends on, which is quite the heavy burden.

It was surprising to me how different her demeanor in the short was from her demeanor in the game.
 
My headcanon is that the game takes place in some sort of advanced simulation in-universe, and the characters are aware of this. But most of them treat it as a serious combat simulation of sorts and treat it accordingly, while D.Va just look at it like a video game, so she doesn’t take it super seriously.

I really don’t like the “every organization is secretly evil and is pulling the strings of the characters!” theories.

The spawn rooms on the city part of Busan have a DDR game that actually works in one spawn, and the other has a karaoke, which as of right now, only Rein can interact with it.

Talon is basically setting up everything for a near-total victory and a world ruled by a psuedo-Darwinist ideology where the strong survive and pick on the weak.
 
And what are the heroes doing? Sitting on their asses and doing random shit.

If anyone wants to read some high-quality fanfiction, I would recommend Steadfast Tin Soldier.
 
It takes a simple character like Jack Morrison and gives him great characterisation and backstory.
