You could and it did get annoying. 1 Mei is cancerous enough. 6 Meis blocking you in your spawn is the definition of hell.

I don’t think we even got a kill when Defense team had 4 Symmetras, a Junkrat and a Torbjorn.

Yeah, I’d take a Mei stack over a Symmetra stack any day.
 
Actually, I remember one match I played a while ago (regular QP, before they removed hero stacking) where all 12 of us were Mei. Both teams, all 6 players were Mei. We were on Watchpoint: Gibraltar, on attack.  
It was so chaotic but so fun. We almost won but ended up losing in the end.  
I actually recorded that match. I should try uploading it to YouTube again, but my internet is so damn slow that it’d take like 5 hours to upload the ~1.5 (IIRC) GB file.

I think I’d rather take that than being stuck in spawn TBH

I played a competitive match yesterday. The opposing team’s Symmetra murdered us. Like, she just ran at us and murdered me as Zenyatta, my buddy as Junkrat and out Reinhardt without reloading.
 
Normally I wouldn’t mind but she just ran toward us and her beam just locks on, even when you’re around a corner.

Reminds of my days as a Tf2 engie setting a Lvl. 3 sentry at the enemy spawn in Dustbowl.

I’m going to assume the enemy team was distracting you three, cause the way you worded that makes you guys sound bad.

Reinhardt was shielding us while I threw my orb of discord at the enemy tanks and my buddy nuked them. Might seem like a risky strategy but it usually works nicely.
 
And then Symmetra showed up… I can deal with Tracer and Genji flanking us. Symmetra not so much.

Sym’s pretty easy to kill as Zen imo. Even the ones that do their cute little jump around dance as they fire at you.
 
At least easier to kill than either of those two.

I’m not so sure on that though. I’ve tried to fight her a few times afterwards (in the same match, I mean) and she always came out on top in 1v1.
 
She just shrugged off my balls and kept coming, like some sort of diabolical beast with a raygun.

The trick is not to freak out.
 
It takes Sym a little under 3 seconds to kill you when she’s locked on, way more forgiving than Mei’s 2 second window.
 
Also, if it helps your aim, don’t move around.

Addendum to Junkrat, you get crazy with the bombs, strategic with the traps.

Sooooo is Symmetra the Sunset Shimmer of Overwatch? A weak concept reviled by many, but whose revamping was so well received that she catapulted to top tier?

Eh I wouldn’t say top tier. A coordinated team will still roll her with our without her shield.

For some reason Mei’s interactions with Bastion implying the two become friends make me picture the genderless death machine picking up some ‘girly’ behaviors from her just through imitation.
 
 
Also there is in-universe art of what appears to be an Athena Omnic body too, so…
