Shame, because “Super Mario Maker” isn’t just a mere “level editor,” or “Little Big Planet,” but a very well done game in itself. It’s presentation, and style kinda reminds me of “Mario Paint,” but you make levels instead. It also has a very robust community/sharing system, and some nice easter eggs, and some fans make some very creative, and fun levels, even if you aren’t good at making stuff yourself.
As a kid, I actually used to draw my own SMB & Zelda level/dungeon maps, so frankly SMM was a dream come true to me.
Overall, I actually liked the Direct, and I feel the sequel deserves some attention/hype before it’s release.
It genuinely looks much better, has way more new content, and the “story” mode is a good addition, and a good way to present the Nintendo-developer made courses in a better, and more game-like setting.
Only thing I’m disapointed about is, they never mentioned anything about an offline multiplayer mode, (aside from 2-player customization, which is nice) and only mentioned the online one. It’d be nice to play as Luigi, Toad, and Toadette outside the VS/co-op mode too.
