Dr. Stone ep 15. Fun ep, a good payoff for the arc. Good timing with Ruri coughing up blood sharply cutting the comedy, followed by Senku running away with his loot. The way they drew Ruri taking the drug kinda undercut what should’ve been a more dramatic moment, but it’s alright.
 
 

 
MHA ep 64. Quite good for a recap ep. I liked the framing device they used here. New ED is really good.
 
Didn’t realize I missed this show this much. So hyped.
 
FGO ep 2. Wall-to-wall lore.

Totsukuni no Shoujo aka The Girl from the Other Side. An excellent short, gives me hope for Wit’s future.
 
Average Isekai ep 2. Nope, still bad.
 
This and Dice Club could’ve been perfectly watchable slice-of-life. Like Bookworm, which is perfectly fine. Sometimes, less is more.

I’ve finished the second half of Senko-san, the first Konosuba OVA, both of the Toradora Specials, the entirety of Girls’ Last Tour as well as both seasons of Gate and the first episode of My Hero Academia Season 4.
 
Senko-san was great - as cute and relaxing as the first half.
 
The Konosuba OVA was one of the funniest things I’ve seen in a while, and I cannot wait for the season 2 dub.
 
The Toradora specials were a mixed bag. The four episode SOS special was alright, though it was probably the weirdest thing I’ve seen in a while. The other special was excellent though - just as good as some of the best episodes of the anime.
 
Girls’ Last Tour was pretty good. The slow-paced and relaxing nature of the show was definitely not what I was expecting from an anime set in a post-apocalyptic setting, but I liked how unique it was. Episode 9 was especially excellent.
 
I really liked Gate, but I really wasn’t comfortable with some of its themes. The story and setting were pretty interesting though, and I loved the characters (especially Rory). The second season did have some pacing issues, but I liked it more than season one overall (especially episode two - it was really satisfying to see the dickhead prince get beat up).
 
MHA S4 is off to a pretty good start. The first episode was a recap, but a really good one imo, and I love the new ED. MHA was the show that really got me into anime, so I’m really excited for the new season.
 
According to spin.moe my next anime will be Azumanga Daioh.

AzuDa is the originator of a lot of modern anime memes and tropes, but I’d surprised if the actual show held up.

My memories of it are it being goofy, (a little) stupid, light hearted fun about girls in school and in their daily lives. Kinda like Non Non Biyori.

It’s been awhile since I’ve AzuDa, but I don’t really think it’s the most apt comparison because NNB is specifically about rural life.
 
The depiction of adult life in AzuDa is probably the element that I would find disagreeable these days. I’m sure Chiyo, Osaka, and the gang are still fun.

I couldn’t stand AzuDa long enough to get past the first 3 episodes. But eventually I gave it another shot.
 
Several years later and I think I watched it like 6 times. It’s a good show.

Jet Girls ep 2. Ah, I see. Their clothes getting shot off is a safety feature. Got it.
 
Anyway, the race is real lame.
 
 
ZX ep 2. “ZEKUSU requires a massive amount of energy.” I bet it does.
 
Anyway, the show establishes the relationship between the Z/X and their partner. Azumi and Rigel’s relationship is kinda interesting, but the rest of this is just not compelling.

Bookworm ep 3. More good family slice-of-life.
 
It’s quite predictable that this isekai would have its main protag be someone special in their new world, but I am glad this show is taking it real slow on that front. I like that the isekai thing is only used as a vehicle to make this five year-old more interesting, and I feel it works better than if she was just a straight-up prodigy. It does feel totally arbitrary what Main does and doesn’t know from her previous life, but whatever, it’s fine. Better than her literally having a fucking cellphone in this world.
 
Other than being lackluster visually, this is pretty damn perfect.
