I can’t wait to see what you think about Renge and candy store lady

I’ve watched the first five episodes of Isekai Quartet, as well as the first half of the first season of New Game.  
Isekai Quartet is as amazing as I hoped it’d be - if not for the short episode length I’d probably give it a 10. Also, I haven’t checked yet, but it seems like Funimation brought all the English VAs from all four shows for the dub, which is nice.  
New Game is excellent. It’s a cute moe slice of life comedy, but I happen to be a big fan of slice of life moe stuff, so I love it. It’s also exactly what I needed after watching three dark shows in a row.  
I’m loving all the characters so far, but Hifumi is best girl. I definitely ship her with Aoba (also, Rin x Ko OTP).  
I’ll probably finish season 1 tomorrow.

Hitoribochi ep 8. I’ve talked about it before, I adore everyone in this show but Nako is my favorite. The contrast between her mildly standoffish demeanor and how hard she tries to look after Bocchi is super sweet and endearing. It’s like they cast a decidedly non-tsundere character in the tsundere role, it’s brilliant.
 
Best Girl in the Best Show aside, Hitori’s encounters with Kurai were good. I really liked Aru’s talk with Sotoka, it’s nice to see her be the level-headed one (outside of her public performance). Didn’t mind them letting Sotoka play the ninja thing out a bit longer. Teared up a bit at the end bit.
 
 

 
Hyouka ep 2. I kinda like Mayaka. Her first on-screen exchange with Satoshi was about as loaded a conversation as you can get, with each line reflecting their respective personas and feelings towards each other. Mayaka’s crush on Satoshi and that he knows it, him dismissing her with a joke because that’s how he deals with everything, her telling him to grow up as a surface-level dismissal while reflecting the maturity she’d like to see in him. All in four lines.
 
Subjectively, I don’t find them a particularly cute or romantic dynamic so far, but I’m pretty sure they are meant to be the flip side to the main pair anyway.
 
Speaking of which, Eru and Hotaro continue to have good chemistry. I like the visual storytelling of Eru constantly taking over Hotaro’s space in the shot. Considering Hotaro is the point-of-view character, it’s like she’s all he can think about. :p It’s cute as hell.
 
 

 
Ep 3. Wow. This opens with what could’ve been a simple info dump to start the underlying plot, but this goes way above and beyond. Two very different people with initially guarded fronts, able to open up a bit to come to a mutual understanding of each others feelings and boundaries, resulting in a stronger friendship. This might’ve been a heated argument in another show, but here, it offers at least as much emotional back-and-forth with just the smallest gestures, through impeccable character acting and direction. Just brilliant.
 
This is why you have to actually watch anime. This why I complain about people judging or interpreting anime based on reading memes, wikis, or tvtropes pages, because those can’t possibly convey how this scene is delivered. I’m tired of people judging anime (or any storytelling media) on everything except the storytelling.

Wataten OVA is out with subs today, this adds with already super sweet combo of Bochi and Senryuu

The swim suits in Wataten’s special amuse me a fair bit for some reason.
 
I knew it! I knew Hana would be wearing a Huggo related costume while everyone else, Hinata, Noa, Kanon and Koyori, would be wearing the costumes that Miyako thought Hana would be wearing!

Anime shipping is fine… until it becomes a problem when you you try to force it on to everyone.

Fruits Basket ep 8. A sweet ep about the guys giving back to Tohru, even if she asks for nothing. And the ep dodged Akito and Kagura, so that was nice.

Re: Hitoriboochi: I felt the same for Sotoka. I did love the interaction between them as well how Kuari was actually crackled up a little before she quickly straightened herself out, but it does seem like she enjoys Hitori’s company, which is nice.

Yeah. That was pretty good.
 
Though the MHA season one finale was… I dunno, I kind of found it a bit disappointing? Like, it felt like it was building up to something bigger and more awesome, but then it essentially just ended with the Cavalry coming in to save the day, and the second half of the episode was just wrapping things up.

Decided to start some less fresh anime, from few years back. Still cute school moe series.  
Gakkou Gurashi!: School-Live! Just first episode sold me on this.
