Love Live Sunshine is basically Love Live but with more Engrish and a demon girl

I find it interesting how MHA treats superheroing different from other movies. There doesn’t seem to be as much stress placed on secret identities or the like, and the heroes are seen as celebrities rather than vigilantes.

It’s basically what would happen if superheroing was legal and supported by governments. It’s a job, no different than a fireman or a police officer, of course with the added popularity contest.

Though, without secret identities, you’d think it would be easier for villains to find and kill heroes and their loved ones.

I’m sure there’s protective measures against that, or something. I mean, do criminals go attack cop’s families?
 
Well, yes. But there are still a lot of cops. So that means it doesn’t happen as often as you’d think.

I caught up with Part 5 anime so I’ll spend the next nine weeks catching up with the manga.

I love what the dub does with Mari’s random English - she’s part Italian, so she just says random Italian instead (except for “it’s joke” and “shiny”, which they kept as is for some reason).  
And yes, Yohane is great <3.

Only government sanctioned heroes. Vigilantes who do fight crime/use powers without being licensed hero or part of police exist. Spin off manga is about this.

I would say yes, but we have a straight up mind controller running around.
 
And he and everyone he knows pegs it a super-villain power despite him desiring otherwise.

Well really, most of the quirks we’ve seen can easily kill someone.  
Class 1-A even has someone who just produces pure acid as a quirk.
 
They’ve sort of touched upon it in the show. How the government had so much trouble in working out how to deal with Quirks legally. And things like school systems outside of specialized ones still don’t really know what to do about them.
 
At one point they offhandedly mentioned that there’s a form of “quirk counseling” that children receive when their quirk is discovered that’s meant to teach them how have basic control over their quirk and likely teaches them why they shouldn’t miss-use it.
 
And there’s extremely strong regulations in place regarding someone using their quirks on others. Especially in a manner that causes injury. In the early episodes we even saw Uraraka apologize to Deku for “using my quirk on you without asking” when she stopped him from falling by making him float. Implying that it’s at least looked down upon socially to use your powers on someone else without permission.
 
So at least the setting has gone into some detail on the subject. How they’ve had trouble just adjusting to Quirks existing at all. And how they try to handle people walking around essentially armed to kill in a moments notice. Which is even pointed out by a villain at one point.

Himiko Toga quirkrequiring to drink blood of somebody to become that somebody, made her outcast by society and only was accepted if she never used or suppressed her quirk. It also made enjoy drinking blood and she developed fixation and fetish for injuries causing her to be unstable on inside, eventually she stopped pretending she is normal and become serial killer.

I like the headcanon that her parents had comparatively less tame ||cannabalism || based quirks.
