So, I’m at episode 14 of Kill La Kill. It’s a pretty underwhelming episode, because it goes into too much detail of something, that doesn’t matter that much in the overall plot (which starts to feel pretty drawn out in the first place). However, it really seems to have an odd effect on some people.

Actually, now that I think about it, it might be “Sakura Trick” for me. It gets a surprisingly high amount of hate from yuri fans. Probably because it’s something that’s more appealing to male fans (which is probably made worse by it being one of the few “explicit” yuri animes), which is quite a iffy thing for yuri fandom, which idealizes works intended for females and likes to think itself above pandering and fanservice.

Naturally, that doesn’t prevent it from elevating an anime, that features rape between the protagonists, as an all-time classic. Yuri fandom is basically a joke.

Akame Ga Kill might not be a favorite of mine but it gets a lot of hate but I still managed to find it fun. The original Hellsing gets hated on it but I thought it was fine.

Also I really like Aku No Hana.

Since we’re speaking of shows we like and don’t like, I want to talk about a show that I absolutely hate. Now, if you know anything about me, you know that I’m normally an optimistic man. In fact, I rarely find anything to be horrendous, as I don’t like to feel negative or be hateful. However, with that being said, I fucking despise Tenchi Muyo! GXP.

Tenchi Muyo! GXP has some of the worst fucking characters I’ve ever seen in an anime. Not worst as in they’re awful people, but worst as in there is little to no development of them. And on top of that, it’s basically the same fucking jokes. And yeah, I know that should be expected in a Harem, but I feel the way they do it in this fucking anime is just fucking lazy. However, that’s not what pisses me off the most.

In the anime, there’s this girl that they are clearly setting up to be main character’s love interest. Like, it is so obvious that Stevie Wonder could fucking see it. However, in the end, they just make the fucking girl chase the guy along with the other girls. Like, what the fuck? Okay, first off, she was a childhood friend of the main character. Why is she all of a sudden chasing her childhood friend around when she seemed to be normal and not dick-hungry like all the other girls? Second, and this is what I really don’t understand, why the hell are you going to clearly hint that the childhood friend is going to end up with the main character and then just have the main character end up with nobody. I mean, it would be one thing if they hinted at all the girls ending up with the main character, but they don’t. They instead just hint at the childhood friend ending up with him, which at least would have been somewhat satisfying to see, but they don’t fucking do it.

In short, I fucking hate this anime. This is the worst harem I’ve ever seen and maybe even the worst anime that I’ve ever seen. You would literally have a more fun time pissing in a doggy bag and then drinking it.

Mine would be FLCL

Does Danganronpa count?

I’ve watched a lot of anime since I’ve gotten into it. I haven’t watched it for as long as most people who watch anime, but I managed to complete 124 in the relatively short time I’ve been a fan of the medium. I recognize that I’m a bit overly-passionate about it at times, and my sense of pride tends to really overlap with it as well, which can make me a bit of an insufferable prick in particular on the topic.

Of course, just because I’m a bit over-zealous doesn’t mean I don’t recognize the fact that being new to something creates a bit of a new car smell effect - with time, the wonder and idealization of it all is replaced with brevity and a bit of a slog. When I first started getting into anime, everything was awesome and great and new, and I wonder if some of what I watched back then would hold up had I watched it all this time later - there’s no doubt in my mind I would’ve loved Haganai regardless of when I watched it, but what about something like Umishou? My very first anime, which in of itself was probably nothing special, but it opened up this whole medium to me. It felt like there was a new sun poking its head up over the horizon, so naturally I cling onto the memories I have watching it rather dearly.

Of course, things that feel the same way tend to become further and further spread apart the more anime I complete - the new car smell has worn off, and I’m a bit more level-headed now. It’s not a whole new world anymore, and it really just makes anime a bit of a search sometimes for something that can capture the magic of when I started last year. Magipoka made me feel a special way, something I probably haven’t felt since Love Live - I really, really, really, reeeaaaaaaaaaaally want to fuck the vampire.

Like, I’m not kidding. Holy shit, Pachira is undoubtedly the sexiest non-loli character I’ve encountered. My god.

my whole goal of all of that was to try to seem deeply touched by it and then just switch it with that i really want to boink a character

is of into jokings, comrade, haha

Err…but anyway, I found it to be one of the funniest anime I’ve watched in a long time, though, and I think it’s a goddamn shame it doesn’t get more attention. It’s got cute girls, sexy girls, cute girls again, and this stupidly great approach to being a waifu comedy that I really think is just ideal for this kind of anime. I can’t recall the last time an anime has made me geniunely laugh as much as this one did unless I go back to Haganai.

Thanks to Moog for the secret santa gift, ya twat. Best comedy I’ve seen in a while, and I doubt I ever would’ve found out about it had it not been for your gift thingy.

Now I need to order the Max Factory Pachira PVC that I can undress. It’s a necessity for living.
