Yeah, I know no one reads my posts.

But this is what I mean, right? He didn’t care about C&T before he watched a scene where a group of cartoon characters constantly swear. That’s what gets his attention. That’s the thing he wants to proudly put out there. And that scene isn’t going to inspire him to pirate it now or watch it on a legal stream later.

It’s like Rikka’s thighs again. Is Gridman a love letter to tokusastu and giant robots? Nah, toys are for babies. Is it about technology, or escapism, or the idea that what we do in virtual spaces might actually matter? Nah, themes are for middle-school essays. It’s about Rikka’s thighs and Akane’s feet, amirite.

I just found out Warner Bros is making a live-action Akira film and are getting Taika Waititi to direct it. Yes, the same no-talent hack who irreparably took a hot steaming crap on Thor on film.

If you wanted to kill your own studio, you could just evacuate everyone from the building and light it on fire. That would be quicker and less painful.

Is the Sword Art Online series really that bad?

@DarklordYuri
@ExtreVile
From what I’ve seen of it, no it’s not.
It’s actually rated pretty well on Anilist, at least.

@DeathCloud
@ExtreVile
It is actually pretty good. Even worst arc is not bad beyond few elements.

From what I heard, it is over-hated. Hating SAO is.one of those "bandwagons" or "running jokes" of the internet.

One big flaw, however, is supposedly how Kirito is something of a "Mary Sue"; basically, he’s just too good at what he does.

My personal problem is the primary danger/antagonist of the show: somehow, despite the literal hundreds of regulations and laws surrounding video game media, this one mad scientist manages to slip into mass-production a VR helmet that can KILL anybody who wears it if certain parameters are met.

Hell, a single episode of Pokemon gave a few dozen kids seizures and that episode was literally never shown again. So you know they go HARD on anything that can cause the audience harm.

I know I’m overthinking this. According to my logic, I should hate Pokemon because literal children are being given elemental creatures that can seriously injure or kill them as ordinary pets. But SAO just bothers me for some reason.

Aikatsu Friends ep 61. I thought it was a little weird that they needed to trick Alicia, but the resulting plan was more fun than an actual magical blizzard or some kind on intervention. Part of me wishes that this develop was a bit more organic, considering how slow they went this arc, but Alicia’s dorkiness and that last push Hibiki gave Alicia made it work.

Hibiki giving Alicia one final push was awesome. Hibiki wasn’t acting there, that was real and it was great. Her development has been so good. She went from treating her like a coworker and not knowing anything personal about Alicia to understanding her deeply. The love Hibki expressed when she talked to Alicia after her performance felt so genuine. I’m so glad this show let Hisaka Youko show her stuff.

Alicia’s performance were great. The instruments, the melody, the vocals, even the outfit, the stage, and the choreography. It’s definitely up there in this series.

Alicia going to Japan was a given but I didn’t expect her to go train with PP. They didn’t forget that Aine and Mio are the main characters, haha. Anyway, anything can happen after this, and I’m looking forward to it.

I don’t feel like the premise is much of a stretch. It’s not that far from "this video game is haunted."

Video games are regulated, but I don’t think the physical consoles are, right? I mean, the guy could’ve just had that feature turned off during testing and turned it on after release.

Also, in Gun Gale Online (the only SAO media I have watched) they establish that if the "you die in the game you die for real" experience wasn’t available, people in that universe would just make it happen. So he could’ve just released it independently, said upfront the game killed you IRL, and still would’ve gotten players.

Recently started watching through JoJo’s Bizarre Adventures. It’s pretty fun!

Currently in Part 4. Just had the episode with the Yandere girl with the hair Stand.

You know, I kinda wish we’d see some normal people with Stands once in a while.
Like, not one of the main characters, not some Super-evil murderer, not some guy trying to con people out of their money. Just a decent person who has a Stand and is living a normal life. Currently it’s either you’re a hero or a complete shithead.

The helmets killed players by frying their brains with a microwave emmitter, IIRC. You think SOMEBODY on the production team would want to know why this apparently ordinary gaming helmet (even if it is revolutionary technology) would even need such a thing.

Wow, really? I assumed it was magic. I mean, microwaves are not that dangerous. They’re non-ionizing, so they’re not a huge risk of radiation poisoning or cancer. The threat would be the heat, but I don’t think one on a headset would heat your head up that fast. I guess it’s the future, and they have really good batteries?

Why not just have the device explode?

So, I just finished Golden Time for the first time. Here are my thoughts.

*2D-kun best girl

*I think the second OP is the best anime OP ever. I just feel it encapsulates the show and Koko’s character so well. Speaking of…

*I’m in love with the Koko

*It’s kinda hard not to compare Golden Time to Toradora given both are by the same person. With that being said, I think Toradora is better for a couple reasons. First, Golden Time didn’t have a standout episode a la the Christmas bear episode. It had some phenomenal episodes, like the car episode and the episode where Banri and Koko are honest with each other, but nothing I would say was best of all time.

Second, a lot of the Golden Time characters didn’t really have development. In fact, the only characters that did were Banri, Koko, and Nana. Golden Time has a cast full of memorable characters. However, I don’t feel a lot of them were fully developed like the Toradora cast were. I mean, Ms. Yuri, a secondary character in Toradora, was more fully fleshed out than a character like Mitsuo and Linda. Both Mitsuo and Linda are good characters in my opinion, but I feel they could have had more character development.

*I think Golden Time had a better, more fulfilling ending than Toradora.

*Golden Time has a lot of similarities to Bunny Girl Senpai. Both have a plot involving around a character who has amnesia and there’s this conflict where their past memories are coming back and their current memories will be erased. However, I feel Bunny Girl Senpai did it better.

*Koko and Banri make such a cute couple.

*Fuck Ghost Banri

Overall, I enjoyed the show a lot. I’d give it an 8 out of 10. Is it the masterpiece that Toradora is? No. However, it’s very enjoyable and has a lot of memorable characters. Also, once again, that second OP is in my opinion the best OP of all time.

I dunno.

But yeah, they must have GREAT future batteries, because the kill switch apparently was able to release a burst of something like a megawatt of microwave radiation.

ALL LOVES BLAZING

Hyouka ep 18. So after a surprisingly depressing arc, one might assume a slice-of-life anime to ramp up towards some grand, cathartic revelations. Not Hyouka.

I suppose this is following the novel’s storytelling, which is why it needed to reintroduce the show’s general space and put us back in Hotaro’s head. Maybe you need to do this in a manga or novel that goes a month or more between releases, but in a weekly tv show, it’s just slow. Even for this show, it was slow.

As usual, the show focuses on how the mystery affects the characters more than the drama of the mystery itself. I liked the show showing a boy and a girl on a bike meet up right in front of Hotaro, right before he meets with Eru. It’s super blunt but it was a cute confirmation that they’re basically on a date. The framing this ep does a good job articulating how much their relationship was shifted over time. The scenes between them are so naturally charged at this point, and neither are the typical anime airhead, so I can’t imagine either of them really think they’re just normal friends at this point.

I also liked the symbolism in the shot of their bags lying against each other, real classy.

It was interesting that the show would have a quick conversation about their relative class and status, when the rest of the ep seems to want to show how close they’ve gotten. Didn’t think this would be a show about class differences, but I can’t ignore that element when the show explicitly brings it up.

Speaking of how close they’ve gotten, Hotaro actually brings Eru into his world as he begins to unravel this ep’s mystery. He no longer thinks about just giving an answer that would satisfy her curiosity, he invites him to share in his emotional burden. Eru returns that honesty in the final scene, pushing through the walls Hotaro tries to put up. Hotaro confesses that, just like Fuyumi predicted, he now feels that his talents give him some moral responsibility. Their mutual crush now feels heavier, like weight hanging between them at all times. Surely this will eventually bring them together, right?

But it’s anime, so probably not.
