General Anime Thread

Hinamatsuri ep 8. Still good. New girls were good (including the teacher).  

 
I liked Hina’s character development and the way they showed it. They can pull it off because the character is charming and the show has good timing. Good expressions help, too.
 
Mahou Shoujo Site ep 8. Beach ep! I still can’t believe it. Anyway, it’s another solid, bittersweet ep. I found how the ep itself went down a little strange, but the story as a whole seems to be going in an interesting direction. I do like the convenient way they got around Aya being a good girl. Maybe it’s because I don’t normally watch this sort of show, but I’m enjoying the tension between the heroes, where one wrong move or misunderstanding and they could all just start killing each other.

MSS - I knew about what will happen with panties before seein new ep but I wasn’t prepered for this.

FranXX ep 19. In this ep they explain the background of the world. Most of it still inexplicable, though.* But I guess it’s better than not trying? I still hate this KokoMitsu shit. They’re not fucking fooling anyone by saying Kokoro and Mitsuru will never develop feelings for each other. They’re going to regain their memories and fall in love again. It’s so stupid.

What. They sacrificed all those people on a prototype? Never occurred to them to try an AI, or another robot? How did they discover the pilot needed reproductive organs? WHY does the pilot need reproductive organs? (What makes a pistil-to-pistil connection not work?) Couldn’t they just make a fucking Gundam?
 
The worst part is, the expository ep brought up these questions. Which means all these will probably be left unanswered. What a show.

I think answer for those questions is dont needed given info we get unless ep would turn into more exposition what is fully unneeded.
 
Obviously what they do with magma energy is something diffrent what we could achieve, can give much better results in terms of energy and stuff but with those drawbacks of ruining the world (and people didnt want to admit to that part for far to long. It may be just magical anime science bullshit but nobody should expect actual science from mecha anime. Magma energy leads to immorality because of Franxx and others reasearch.  
And Franxx machines being some kind of being born out of Klasosaurs material would need biological human pilot for it’s “magic” to work. Without it there is no need to try ai controler or other robot but actually use futuristic military tech to achieve better antiKaijuAngel technology, but point of story to have dumb mechas.
 
I’m for satified with explanation for stupid Franxx piloting system they gave. APE probably did experimenting on their own to make better pilots what may not need specific gender (or gender at all), resulting with Alphas, who may be just super prototypes, just prototypes of new model of parasites or just only models because parasites may be obsolete if APE wins.

I need to watch Plastic Nee-San one day.

It’s great. The whole series is only about 30 minutes, so it’s easy to watch.

I can (and did) give the ”Magma Energy” thing a pass. It’s contrived, but it’s better than nothing and it’s not that important.
 
I don’t want to give them a pass on just throwing bodies at the mech until it started. All these brilliant minds that solved the energy crisis and cured aging can’t come up with a better solution?
 
I can’t give them a pass on the sex pilot thing. That is important because the show is all about the pilots and their relationships, especially the second half. They didn’t even try to give a bullshit reason. They just happened upon it? A scientist like Frank would want to know why, goddammit. To me, both of these sound more like lazy writing rather than lazy or uncaring scientists.
 
I mean, hell, why couldn’t they just say only kids can pilot it? The connection to the mech is stronger when the pilot is younger. That’s something they could’ve figured out through trial and error, and data analysis. It’s not perfect, but it’s better than nothing. Why is it specifically the reproductive organs? So Frank can tragedy in his life? Frank isn’t particularly likable, and his wife was only introduced this ep. Do they expect us to be sad when she died? I fuckin’ wasn’t.

MHA ep 46. Still good. Iida’s still loud, Momo’s still cute, Deku’s still a dork. The pacing has been pretty good once it got going, hopefully that keeps up.
 
GGO ep 7. Fun ep. Fukaziroh and LLEN have good chemistry. It’s too bad Fuka’s hair is going to hidden most of the time. Also, I don’t see how M’s cover-thing is such a big deal that you need to plan for it. Can’t you just throw a grenade at him?

Oh, that reminds me. Yeah, just go ahead and test the anti-aging drug on people. Not on individual cells first or anything, just give it to living people. Because there can’t possibly be any side-effects or anything, right? Weren’t the people working on it doctors, or at least smart?
 
What is the point of depicting these characters as “scientists” when they’re going to so goddamn unscientific. Just fucking call them wizards.

HisoMaso ep 7. Another fun and adorable ep. Twintails look really good on Nao. Okonogi being tsundere was cute, too. I found some of the ideas in it a little concerning, but I’m going to let the show play it out. It’s definitely earned that at this point. Also, getting kinda tired of the guy with the hair. I bet he stays that way the whole show.
 
CCS ep 20. Hey, another rich person’s house. Also, it seem like it’s getting somewhere now? Seems a little late, I hope this season doesn’t end in a cliffhanger.
 
Uma Musume ep 10. Not so crisp this week, but I liked the way they mirrored the race, and I liked the bits at the girls’ homes.
 
On a related note, the first image that Google gives for Special Week, Silence Suzuka, and Tokai Teio are now the anime counterpart.
