I started watching Kill La Kill again (after having only seen two episodes years ago). It’s actually kinda amazing (in a pathetic way) that there are actually people who deny that it’s ecchi. The first episode alone completely beats you over the head with it.

There is nothing wrong with liking something that is loaded with fanservicey elements. Should just accept that and keep liking it as opposed to fighting your hardest to deny that it makes heavy use of fanservice in a way that might just not be all for artistic merit.
How are any of the scenes I posted above, which the series is pretty laden with, even remotely artistic?

Look, it is full of fanservice. I won’t argue with that. I just feel like some– not all, but some– of the fanservice relates to the plot and the fights. Personally, I define fanservice as something that exists only to arouse or titilate the audience. With so, I personally– I repeat, personally– don’t think some of the suggestive material in Kill La Kill is meant for fanservice.

I’m all for personal standards, but I’m not all for using it as a guise to try and escape being challenged, man. “It’s just my opinion” isn’t really a good defense. Plus, definitions and standards/opinions are two different things.
By this logic, Masuen Gakuen HxH isn’t an Ecchi either because the main powers of the fighting stuff do technically revolve around the guy arousing the female characters as much as possible. Just watch the first few seconds of that one and try to come back and tell me it isn’t an Ecchi with a straight face ._.
Sexual stuff relating to the fights is a really common trope in action/ecchi, so much so that by this logic almost anything that has the combination of action and ecchi isn’t considered an ecchi at all by this definition.
I’m sorry, man, but it’s an Ecchi by the current definition of what makes something an ecchi - which is nothing related to narrative or setting or anything like that, but just something jampacked with sexual scenes that doesn’t really ever go into outright Hentai category. Ecchi isn’t even really an individual genre as much as a tag applied to anime with a lot of sexual elements that will fall under different genres. People really just need to accept this as opposed to trying to dig their way around it as much as possible - it’s OK to like something if it has fanservice, regardless of whether or not you liked the fanservicey elements about it.
But meh, I’m done too. From my latest ban, I learned that you can’t challenge somebody’s perception of something as long as they say the magic words “I don’t want to discuss this with you, but…”

I’m well aware of how aggressive I can be and how much I go for a straight up shut-out instead of listening to other people, I just don’t view that as being bad so I don’t do anything about it. No need to try and coddle me over it. I order the big kid’s meals and McDonald’s, not those pussy ass happy meals :V
Discussion strikes me as being more of a clash of opinions as opposed to something actually meant to make any sort of progress, but that’s also a fuckton of fun. It’s like fuckin’ sword fights or something and shit, and your weapons and styles are entirely decided by your opinions.
