Almost had a cat like this
Its owner’s wife sold it against his will so I gave it back, the cat really wasn’t happy being taken away.

Yeah it would just run off and become a stray if it’s not even happy, the ultimate solution was return the cat to his rightful owner.

Around the time Monster Hunter Tri was releasing on the _Nintendo Wii!_™ I was waiting outside for my friend, when all of a sudden out pops this dark grey cat with a raspy meow. He turned out to be the next door neighbor’s cat. He had gotten him due to the previous owner passing away and none of the family wanted him, so they tied him up and put a plastic bag over his head to try and asphyxiate him, that’s when he noticed the cat and rescued him.
When I would wait out side for my friend to show up, he would come up to me and hang out with me, and I would pet him and he’s purr. Poor bastard was pretty malnourished so I we’d give him some extra food and around fall, he began to fluff up a lot. Along with his dark grey fur, bright yellow eye he became a good friend until he passed away that would be dubbed: Wolf cat.
