As a person with autism, that’s cool to hear. And while its fine that she enjoys Teen Titans GO, I hope she does expand her tastes. I’m only saying this because I used to be homeschooled with a lower-functioning kid who was around my age but would eat up ANYTHING related to kids cartoons except for anything focused on violence and action. I think you can get an idea about what he would be into.

@Beau Skunky
Sounds just like the guy who I was homeschooled with. He was around my age when we met and he had the attention span of a very young kid.

I remember when I saw the Fire Ant episode for the first time. The full version was the definition of padding.

Mike Lazzo disowned Space Ghost Coast to Coast?! I bet it was for a shitty reason.

Apparently, he just doesn’t like the show anymore. Honestly, it’s much better then “20oz. Mouse,” and such.
Plus, Space Ghost invented “Adult Swim.”

As a kid, I had diverse tastes, I liked both comical, and action shows. It’s rare to find anything that’s both nowadays.
The recent “Justice League Action” kinda balances the comedy & action better, I’m curious why it’s barely been given a chance to air.

Finally finished Legend of the Three Caballeros. I said it before and I’ll say it again; this is what the new Ducktales should have been. Loved the nods to the old shorts and the Carl Batks and Don Rosa comics, and the finale was epic. Shame this likely won’t get continued since it more than deserves to.

The new Ducktales isn’t bad, it’s quite good, but they do take some odd liberties with the series, I’ll admit.

Such as making Doofus Drake an antagonist, making Ducksworth a ghost, probably ‘cause they didn’t intend to include him at first making Mrs. Beakly an “action Mom” sort’ve, making the kid characters sound like adults, not having Jim Cummings voice Don Carnage.

Still, it also has some nice easter eggs, and nods to the old show, and even other Disney Afternoon shows in it.

I have yet to finish The Three Caballeros cartoon, but I much prefer DuckTales 2017. I find the former’s plotline too cliche and the jokes not that funny, well the latter has better characters that make mediocre stories enjoyable and fun.
@Beau Skunky
I honestly like Doofus better in the reboot as I disliked him in the original for being an annoying fat kid stereotype. Admittedly I have a few problems with Reboot Mrs. Beakly outside of her actionized appearance.

Is it too much that I want a channel to show the original versions of all these rebooted cartoons? And in general just cartoons from my generation of the late ’80s and early ’90s?

Channels specializing in animation and other youth-oriented entertainment must continually appeal to the current audience and adapt to a changing culture as their old audience outgrows and abandons them for a productive work environment. On top of that, older shows being readily available on the internet and streaming services renders such a request redundant, especially as cable television falls further and further into obsolescence and irrelevance.

I liked the revamp for Mrs. Beakley, which is why I hate how they have her appear even less than they do Donald. Heck, the whole opening feels like a massive lie: it shows Scrooge as the hero and leading the whole family on adventures across the globe which include Donald and Beakley. And in the actual show they’re absent 90 percent of the time, Scrooge usually gets stuck in some minor b-plot that doesn’t have any bearing on the rest of the episode, Launchpad appears often but is made too stupid to live to the point that his gags are more irritating rather than funny, and the actual globetrotting happens offscreen most of the time.

And all that leaves us is the kids, with Francisco Angones even admitted recently they’re the real stars, despite the fact that they’ve been growing more and more unlikable in the past few months. I’ve found myself getting bored watching the show the last several times, and haven’t even bothered watching the last few episodes.

I guess I just prefer Donald actually being the main character for real instead of pulling a bait and switch where he’s built up as one only to have the rug pulled out from under me.

Not to mention, many ‘90s, and ‘80s cartoons are available on DVD too, so you can still own them for nostalgia, or share them with your younger relitives. I have the original Inspector Gadge, Super Mario Super Show, Sonic, Ducktales, Freakazoid, and such on DVD.

@Background Pony #0966
I suppose the show focuses too much on the kid characters, but the original was sometimes guilty of that too. I guess they’re trying to keep kids interested.

@Oddball64
I think I liked Doofus better as a fat kid stereotype, rather then a creepy obsessive shut-in kid type stereotype. Feels like they just made him into an edgy joke of himself, rather then reboot him.

I’m not against every retooled character, Gyro being more hot-tempered, and a bit smug, I hear actually is more in line with the earlier Carl Barks comic book version of the character. I suppose Mrs. Beakly being more “feminist” isn’t entirely bad too, but as she hardly gets any action anyways, so they might’ve well just kept her a nanny.
I do like her British accent.

I hear they might be bringing in Dijorn, (from the obscure Duck Tales movie, and later seasons) but I have a feeling he’s going to be alot more politically-correct. (Given the whole “Apu” Simpsons drama.)

Anyone watch Disenchantment on Netflix?

Watched the first episode, and didn’t laugh once.

The kids being the focus doesn’t bother me that much since I find them more interesting than their original counterparts. But maybe the second season should give them and Scrooge equal spotlight episodes to make everyone happy. The only real flaw I have with the show is the lack of Donald, the recent episode does however show why he’s been absent alot.

He’s an ‘everyman’ kind of character like Mario. Ever notice how Luigi has more going for him personality wise than him? So more younger peeps can relate to his ordinary-ness which helps with bringing in the bling. Also they can put him in any situation.
Background Pony #CF3F
Epic Tales of Captain Underpants is kind of bad. The jokes go on too long and the pacing is a mess.
