Tiny frogs that, on a warm night, will make such a noise that you can barely have a conversation outdoors -- not that I'm outdoors much of April and May, though, as the trees are trying to kill me. Allergies. ( ;_;)
 
EDIT: the whole reason I posted that is because if there's enough peepers going at once, it almost sounds like a swarm of tiny bat pones going **Eeeeeee!** at once. LoL I'm so high on allergy meds right now.
