Explorer in Training
Fluttershy is the first in the reboot to become Twilight's friend, being introverts they can relate to each other quite well. They both like quiet and can relate to not being the life of the party.

Most importantly they can relate to how they're both afraid of things turning out bad. Like them messing things up for their friends or being betrayed.
